The New Modern Republican Party?...

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Lib e rty -vs- Tyr a nny Perhaps the following is a big reason the Republican party, aka the Tea Party, is losing credibility. Given Steve Lonegan's self identified "callous disregard" for presumably every conceivable (unfortunate) situation maybe the party of which he is a member should take a look at how the majority of Americans view his callousness, and by extension the callousness of the party he represents. Only a blind person could shoot themselves (and their party) in the foot as thoroughly as this dunderhead. Read the story HERE . Via: Memeorandum

Gingrich Speaking Out, In Criticism Of His Own Party...

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Lib e rty -vs- Tyr a nny I have not been a advocate of Newt Gingrich these past few years. I mean during his presidential campaign and all. I guess though the guy deserves credit for having the capacity to work with Bill Clinton when he was Speaker of the House and Mr. Clinton was the President. Now, during these times of rancor and discontent between brothers and sisters (conservatives and liberals, republicans and democrats) Mr. Gingrich is advising his more recalcitrant Republican brethren to, well, can I safely say THINK? The ex Speaker is sounding an quite a bit like, well, an elder Statesman chastising his own party for their lack of idea's nonetheless. Who would've thought? I ain't no backer of the ACA has written and poured down our throats. But given the opposition party has come up with no alternative, other than repealing the ACA (and impeaching President Obama) I give the Speaker high fives for speaking out. ...

Obama Had His Chance... Now It Is Time To Stand Against Tyranny

Image
By: Les Carpenter III Rational Nation USA Sometime after the election of  Barrack Hussein Obama I determined to give the guy a break. You know, back off on the heavy slash and burn and give the man a chance.  After all everyone deserves at least a chance to prove themselves. The initial concerns over his complete lack of experience  in anything other than community organizing , studying the works of Saul Alinsky, and dabbling at being a law professor were put on the back burner. The fact he had zero, zip, nada experience meeting a payroll and running a successful enterprise,  not even a hot dog stand was tucked away in the deep folds  of my mind so as to be fair and balanced in my assessment of the man. Well, almost no experience. He had been a U.S. Senator  and certainly had shown his oratorical flair as the  keynote speaker at the Democratic National Convention in 2004. During his ...

The Coming Health Care Vote... Will It Succeed

Image
As Madame Pelosi prepares the final Democratic onslaught to push a seriously flawed and costly health care (insurance) bill through congress there is yet a possibility it may fail. As liberty loving Americans we certainly hope so. Call your congressional leaders to express opposition to this ill conceived monolith of a bill that will significantly increase the federal governments intrusion into our lives. In its current form it will do nothing to either improve health care or reduce health care costs. There is strong opposition to reform by voters in key congressional districts. The response to a survey by the Polling Company on behalf of Independent Womens Voice clearly demonstrates opposition to reform. The survey of 1200 registered voters in 35 congressional districts whose members could well determine the outcome of health care (insurance) reform is telling. Following is a quick run down: 82% of tho...

Obama Pollster.. We'll Like Health Reform Regardless

Image
President Obama, the all knowing and enlightened, decided America needs heath care ( insurance) reform. After it became apparent the people were not happy with the reform package he found a pollster to assure the people to fear not, once the bill is railroaded through congress, in spite of their objections they will learn to like it. So sayeth Joel Benenson, President Obama's lead pollster. According to the THE HILL Benenson's remarks were partially in response to other Democratic pollsters who have warned that if health care (insurance) reform is passed the GOP will score big in the 2010 mid  term elections. Doug Schoen, pollster for former Senator  Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.), as well as  Pat Caddell, former aide to President Jimmy Carter, have said that the Obama team and congressional democratic leaders are simply deluding themselves in thinking they will gain political by ram rodding this unpopular bill through...

Obama Holds Health Care Summit

As President Obama convenes his Health Care Summit today I wonder if there will be mention by anyone  of the current situation that has developed in England. Apparently the NHS is under investigation for failing to provide poper care to patients. As a result of this 1200 people are no longer among the living. Excerpts from a British news outlet; Up to 1,200 patients died unnecessarily because of appalling care Labour's obsession with targets and box ticking blamed for scandal Patients were 'routinely neglected' at hospital Report calls for FOURTH investigation into scandal Not a single official has been disciplined over the worst-ever NHS hospital scandal, it emerged last night. Up to 1,200 people lost their lives needlessly because Mid-Staffordshire NHS Trust put government targets and cost-cutting ahead of patient care.  But none of the doctors, nurses and managers who failed them has suffered any formal sanction. Remember, Britain's health care system ...

Fixing Health Care

The Plan Should Scott Brown (R) Win The Mass. Special Election

The ObamaCare machine has not only insured there has been zero transparency of late with respect to "The Plan", it has also been busy the past week plotting just how it might effectively shove "The Plan" through congress and quickly get the bill to the "One" for his signature should Scott Brown win the special election in Massachusetts. This might be acceptable if the majority of the country approved of the current plan. However this is not the case. Therefore should Brown win, and indications are that he will, "The Plan" should go no further until he has taken his place at the table. This election may very likely be close and we may not know the results until tomorrow. It is also likely that if the margin of win is razor thin there will be challenges that delay the seating process, no matter which way the results go. Prudence and proper governance would requires that patience be exerted and the newly elected Senator be seated before the he...

More American Now Believe U.S. Health Care System Best in the World

The most recent Rasmussen poll is showing a significant shift in America's perception of our health care system. The shift is in a decidedly upward (positive) direction, and as such bears an increasing challenge to the Democratic bill that passed the House as wellas the Senate bill yet to be debated on the floor of the Senate. This is good news as both versions of healthcare reform are seriously flawed as covered by the balanced, albeit limited portion of our national media. Following are some highlights of the Rasmussen poll released November 27, 2009. 49% currently rate U.S. health care as good or excellent. The above figure shows a steady increase to the favorable side as follows; 29% 18 months ago, 39% in May of this year, and 44% at the start of October. The most recent Rasmussen poll shows that a mere 27% believe the U.S. heath care system is poor. What is significant is that only 38% favor the current legislation working it's way through Congress. Liberal vot...

Peter Schiff - On Obama Care

Peter Schiff is running for United State Senate from the state of Connecticut  in 2010. He is a conservative businessman who opposes the Obama/Pelosi/Reid heath care plan abomination. He is the right man with the right ideas at the right time for America.  His market based ideas, and  solutions, are right on the mark. Consider supporting Peter Schiff in his run for a U.S. Senate seat. Hat tip to the Left Coast Rebel . I picked the link and video off his sight to post here for East Coast Rebels to consider.

New Guidelines for Breat Cancer Screening Just Released.

Image
For years the medical profession, in its effort to fight and reduce breast cancer deaths in women, has encouraged regular self examination and regular  mammograms beginning at age forty. This may all change if a panel commissioned by The Department of Health and Human Services has its way. The new recommendations, while not applicable to women in high risk groups, suggest the following; 1) mammograms beginning at age 50, 2) mammograms administered every two years rather than yearly, 3) that physicians stop teaching women to examine their breast regularly. The justification offered is to "reduce harm from over treatment." The new guidelines are currently available for review at The Annals of Internal Medicine . It is likely the new guidelines will set off  heated controversy. Especially so as they run contrary to some professional and advocacy groups position. The National Cancer Institute...

Olympia Snowe - History Calls

Well, the slightly pink hue surrounding Maine Senator Olympia Snowe just got deeper. In announcing her decision to vote for the Democrats Healthcare bill she aligned herself with the socialist agenda of  the Reid, Pelosi, Obama troika. Even as she indicated reservations she landed on the side of the bills supporters. Snowe is proving herself again to be a disappointment to those having a modicum of fiscal sanity. Sure the bill she will vote on to move out of committee is not the full fledged Obamanation bill desired by the President and his supports. Senator Baucus, and other so called moderates, will tell Americans it is a good bill and preserves those things not broken while fixing those that are. And the best part of course will be that it provides millions more Americans with coverage. Actually a good thing if it can be paid for on a sustainable basis. Arguments will be made that while costing over 800 bi...
