Bigotry and White Supremacist in Key Position in White House...

The  letter below was written and sent to Donald J. Trump demanding he remove Stephen Miller from his position as Trump's senior advisor. While it is unlikely Trump will act to remove, the request (demand) is totally proper. There is no place for bigotry, racism, hate, white supremacists, or neo-Nazis in our government.  All Americans who find the rhetoric of Stephen Miller, and DJT for that matter, reprehensible and unacceptable should take action in anyway possible for them to make their voices heard. Loud and clear. Bad people and bad policy succeed when good people do nothing. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ November 18, 2019 The President The White House 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, NW Washington, DC 20500 Dear Mr. President: On behalf of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, a coalition charged by its diverse membership of more than 220 national organizations to promote a...

The Just Because Post

Image
This is a Just Because post. If you're wondering what a Just Because post is we're about to tell ya. A Just Because post is one that is used to highlight the unfortunate and sad fact that there are a multitude intellectually dishonest people on the right. Mostly they are tRumpers . You know who they are. The folks that accept every one of the over 2,000 falsehoods tRump has uttered since soiling the Office of the Presidency. They be the same folks claiming to be devout upright Christians . You know them as well. Folks who have no problem with tRump's pussy grabbing proclivities, or that he was thrice married and cheated on each one of his wives (we assume multiple times), the guy who bragged that his Vietnam was fighting off STD's as he led his promiscuous lifestyle in the 80's and early 90's. Did we mention that the president they admire has had 16 women allege sexual misconduct (sexual predation) against him? That he strongly supported a man accused of ...

Will 'Never Trump' Be the Only Survivors After He's Gone?...

When the Republican Party’s current coalition falls apart, those who stood up to bigotry will be the only ones with the credibility to rebuild. Excerpt from The Atlantic . Conservatives and republicans need to read, reread, and fully understand the following as well as the ramifications of their failure to stand for right rather than the misguiuded right wing of their party . Of course, Trump has presided over many policy failures. Any president could pass a tax bill or confirm federal judges given a Senate and House that is controlled by their party. And Trump’s tax bill failed to simplify the system while his federal court appointments include embarrassingly unqualified choices. But even without those caveats to the two policy achievements that conservatives cite most often, there are sound reasons to justify opposition from Never Trumpers. Some relate to incompetence, others to lack of transparency. And the most important and damning traits that distinguish Trump from hi...

Cruz Making the "State's Right" Argument When Responding to Gay Married Man...

Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth Republican presidential candidate Ted (Rafael) Cruz, after telling a gay man the constitution guarantees and protects the rights of all citizens equally , invoked the age old state's right argument with respect to marriage law. Lets cut to the chaise. His invoking the state's right argument is simply arguing for discrimination against gays and lesbians who wish to marry. In other words it an argument for continued homophobia and bigotry. ABC - Sen. Ted Cruz today invoked the protections included in the Constitution when a gay man asked the Republican presidential candidate about his work protecting the rights of gay voters. Responding to a question from Todd Calongne, a married gay man who is a registered Republican and owner of a pizza parlor in New York City, Cruz said the Constitution protects the rights of all citizens equally. "When it comes to religious liberty, religious liberty is something that protects all of ...

The Voice of Irrationality and Bigotry...

Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth Today felt like a good day to visit a few ultra rightwing websites to see what extreme views were circulating following the terrorist attacks in Brussels. It didn't take long to come across a real doozy, First stop, World Net Daily, also known as World Nut Daily by the more sane and reasonable folks of America. Considered a credible news source by almost no one outside of the most wildly extreme conservative circles we immediately hit pay dirt. Many of you no doubt will remember congresswomen Michelle Bachmann, a conservative and very religious republican from Minnesota. She was rather looney back when she represented the good people of her district, but it seems time has not been kind to her intellectual acumen. Mrs. Bachmann, in all her rightwing religious "wisdom", has chosen the terrorist attacks in Brussels this week to unleash an attack on President Obama as he visited Cuba, our heretofore estranged neighbor 90 miles ...

Anti Gay Texas College Prohibits Gay Athletes From Dating or Supporting Same Sex Marriage...

Image
Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth Consistent with our desire to celebrate and model a Scriptural approach to sexuality;, the University prohibits same-sex dating behaviors and public advocacy for the position that sex outside of a biblically-defined marriage is morally acceptable. Filipe Farinha/Getty Images LeTourneau Univ., an NCAA Division III school in Texas, has a new policy forbidding gay student-athletes from dating. Any support for same-sex marriage can result in an athlete's dismissal. Here we see yet again the bigotry that blankets the religious right. Americans in general are moving away from religious fundamentalism with the younger generation leading the way to a more tolerant and less bigoted society. What is shown in the above quote is the dark side of religious fundamentalism. In one simple statement LeTourneau University, a Christ centered institution of higher learning, treats gay and lesbian individuals and couples as second class human beings and ...

Bigoted Hateful Baptist Preacher Calls For Extermination Of LGBT People...

Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth Can anybody tell us what separates this "Man of God" from the bigoted Clerics of the Faith of Islam? I'm really, really curious. RAW STORY - A Baptist pastor in Tempe, Arizona called for the mass extermination of LGBT people on Sunday in a sermon entitled “AIDS: The Judgement of God.” In the sermon, which was uploaded to YouTube on Monday from Faithful Word Baptist Church, Pastor Steven Anderson said that God has ordered in the scriptures that gays should be killed, and that if humanity wants to have an “AIDS-free world by Christmas,” he said, that’s what should be done. “Turn to Leviticus 20:13,” he says in the video, “because I actually discovered the cure for AIDS.” “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them,” Anderson read aloud. “And that, my friend, is the cure for AIDS,” he said. “It was ...

Religious Leaders Ask The President To Exempt Religious Groups From Order Barring LGBT Bias In Hiring

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth As fundamentalist religious leaders continue to press their discriminatory and bigoted agenda in the halls of our government. Unless this nation puts a stop to BS of this nature it will be harder and harder to tell the difference between us and the fundamentalism we see in Islamic regimes in the Middle East. Fourteen prominent faith leaders — including some of President Obama’s closest advisers — want the White House to create a religious exemption from his planned executive order banning federal contractors from discriminating against gays and lesbians in hiring. A letter to the White House , sent Tuesday and made public Wednesday, includes the signatures of Michael Wear, faith director for Obama’s 2012 campaign; Stephen Schneck, a leader of Catholic outreach in 2012; and Florida megapastor Joel Hunter, whom Obama has described as a close spiritual counselor. The letter reminds Obama of his own earlier faith-based oppos...

The Face of Fundamental Christianity in America?... You Be the Judge

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny The face of Fundamental Christian Bigotry! The face of a strong diverse America! Mrs. Rational and I took our dynamo back home to Mom and Dad yesterday as he will be going with them to Myrtle Beach Friday for two weeks. Yes, he is one lucky, and very appreciative dynamo. His family is hard working and as a result he is able to enjoy some of the fruits of their labor. With continued perseverance, and maybe a bit of luck this dynamo will be as educated and forward thinking as his supportive family. Coming home for a day before heading south to the casinos I could not resit the temptation to visit the ever present Memeorandum and catch up just a bit on current events. During my diligent review of the "news" on Memeorandum I could not help but notice the still present bigotry and racism that apparently continues to exists in the dark pockets of Christian fundamentalism. Perhaps it is but a few who suppor...

Is The Conservative Movement To Become History?

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Being the father of independent conservative thought I find myself awestruck by the position of the Family Research Council and Concerned Women for America. The two groups announcement that they will not attend CPAC's February conference strikes me as being driven totally by idealogical beliefs rooted in the dark ages. While they may claim the reason for their refusal to participate is due to the organizations "financial mismanagement and movement away from conservative principals" the true underlying reason rests in CPAC's invitation to GOProud, a homosexual activist group, to attend the conference. Having been a young man in my late twenties and early thirties {I was an independent conservative even in those days} I recall the idealogical dark age mentality of one Anita Bryant who railed against homosexuality because it would be the destruction of the family and family values as the religious right believes they ought to...
