The Rush To Repeal the ACA (Obamacare)...

Rational Nation U S A Purveyor f Truth What follows is the letter sent to congressional leadership regarding efforts to reform the health care system. It is from the American Medical Association (AMA) and it make reasonable sense. Without a doubt the majority of Americans very likely agree with the AMA's position. We are reprinting the letter in it's entirety, with proper attribution as well as linking to the AMA . Dear Majority Leader McConnell, Leader Schumer, Speaker Ryan and Leader Pelosi: On behalf of the physician and medical student members of the American Medical Association (AMA), I am writing regarding our ongoing commitment to reform of the health care system and potential legislative actions during the first months of the 115th Congress. The AMA has long advocated for health insurance coverage for all Americans, as well as pluralism, freedom of choice, freedom of practice, and universal access for patients. These policy positions are guided by the action...

SCOTUS Upholds National Subsidies...

Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth In a 6-3 decision the SCOTUS upheld the ACA {ObamaCare} national subsidies and republicans have been responding as expected. Loud voices for the repeal of the ACA will constitute 2016 battle cry of the GOP presidential candidates. Clips from the HUFF POST POLITICS follow. Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) I disagree with the Court’s ruling and believe they have once again erred in trying to correct the mistakes made by President Obama and Congress in forcing Obamacare on the American people." “Despite the Court’s decision, ObamaCare is still a bad law that is having a negative impact on our country and on millions of Americans. I remain committed to repealing this bad law and replacing it with my consumer-centered plan that puts patients and families back in control of their health care decisions. We need Consumer Care, not ObamaCare. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush I am disappointed by today’s Supreme Court ruling in the King v. Burwell ...

A Bump In the Road for Conservatives and Their Plan to Send an ObamaCare Repeal Bill to the President's Desk...

Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth Conservatives may suffer a setback in their plan to send a bill repealing the ACA to the President's desk y the end of this year. Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough has sent up red flags as to whether the senate can use the procedural process known as budgetary reconciliation as vehicle to attempt a repeal of ObamaCare. THE HILL - GOP sources say Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough has raised red flags in response to queries about whether it’s possible to use a special budgetary procedure to repeal the controversial law “root and branch,” as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has said. Senate Republican officials have pushed for an interpretation of the rules that would allow for repealing the law with a one-sentence provision on a simple-majority vote. The special process is known as budgetary reconciliation. It can be used to circumvent the Senate’s customary 60-vote threshold to produce changes in ...

ObamaCare, aka ACA, Continuing To Lose Support...

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation U S A Liberty -vs- Tyranny Washington (CNN) - The Affordable Care Act, which is the signature domestic achievement for President Barack Obama, was passed along party lines in 2010, when Democrats controlled both houses of Congress. Since that passage, Republicans have fought to either repeal, defund, or severely restrict the law. A push by congressional conservatives to defund the law was the catalyst for October's 16-day long partial federal government shutdown, the first in nearly two decades. As Americans began to better understand the flaws in the ACA and struggle through perhaps the most customer unfriendly sign up experience in human history, as well as more and more people now realizing the Affordable Care Act is really the Unaffordable Care Act for many, support for ObamaCare continues its descent. CNN, a slightly left leaning cable news network has just released a nationwide CNN/ORC International poll indicating ObamaCare is decid...

And We Wonder Why?...

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation U S A Lib e rty -vs- Tyr a nny You just can't make this sh*t up. Texas Republican Governor Rick Perry obviously fails to understand how our nation of laws work. Even following a United States Supreme Court ruling that a law is Constitutional. Apparently the slightly light in the attic Governor Perry has determined that ' implementation of the national health care reform law constituted "a criminal act."' By what standard he arrived at his "scholarly" determination apparently only his God knows. He (or I) may not like or agree with the ACA but that doesn't make it criminal. From REAL CLEAR POLITICS . HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- In a campaign appearance Tuesday on behalf of New Jersey Republican Senate nominee Steve Lonegan, Texas Gov. Rick Perry said the government's implementation of the national health care reform law constituted "a criminal act." "If this health care law is forced upo...

Mitt Romney, the Human Flipper...

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny Mitt Romney was all about repealing the ACA (ObamaCare) as his first priority if elected. As I recall he said he would do so on his first day in office. Once again Mr. Mittens Romney is changing his tune just a bit. Today on NBC’s “Meet The Press" he said he would keep some key aspects of the ACA in place. TPM - Mitt Romney said Sunday that he likes parts of ‘Obamacare’ and will keep key provisions involving pre-existing conditions and young people. “I’m not getting rid of all of health care reform. Of course there are a number of things that I like in health care reform that I’m going to put in place,” he said on NBC’s “Meet The Press. “One is to make sure that those with pre-existing conditions can get coverage. Two is to assure that the marketplace allows for individuals to have policies that cover their family up to whatever age they might like.” The remarks appear to contradict Romney’s strong, unequivoc...
