Chris Matthews on the Constitutionality of Questioning a Sitting President...

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny Chris Matthews once again proving his grasp of the Constitution is limited. Of course we all know he has become a great one for "winging it" of late. However, this recent commentary (opinion) from Mr. Matthew is over the top vintage progressivism on display. Washington Examiner - On MSNBC’s “Hardball” Wednesday evening, Chris Matthews discussed the theatrics of the presidential debate with James Lipton, longtime host of “Inside the Actor’s Studio.” Lipton offered some unremarkable observations — he called Mitt Romney “the boss who tells lame jokes and waits for everybody to laugh or else” — but what made the segment remarkable was Matthews’ reaction to a portion of the debate in which Romney in essence silenced President Obama, telling him he would have a chance to speak later. Matthews played a video clip of the exchange, in which Romney accused Obama of cutting the number of oil and gas permits awarded...

Mathews: Weiner Threatens Dems Chances of Ever Recapturing House Leadership if He Stays

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Birthplace of Independent Conservatism Liberty -vs- Tyranny Usually I don't Put much stock in Chris Matthews thoughts and commentary. However, this time he may just have a point. Chris Matthews continued his drumbeat of disgust with Congressman Anthony Weiner’s “gross behavior” and wondered when was the Democratic leadership going to step up and force him to resign? Although his guests Ben Smith and Chris Cillizza reported that behind the scenes Democratic leaders are very hopeful Weiner will exit, both agreed that it seems like Weiner might not be going anywhere anytime soon. Matthews was aware that Weiner’s behavior might not be as big of a deal in his home district of New York, but knew that around the country it played much worse. “If you’re a blue dog Democrat from a conservative culture part of the country . . . your life is getting difficult enough defending the East coast and the left coast Democratic party, they’re too far ...

Chris Mathews Implies Ron Paul Is Racist

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Birthplace of Independent Conservatism Ron Paul in the week he announced his candidacy for the presidency of the United States placed himself in the spotlight of controversy over the 1964 Civil Rights Act. He stated on the Chris Matthews show that he would have voted against the act were he in congress at the time. Rep. Paul's reason is consistent with his position on property rights and that the act violated the property rights of independent businesses. This is in holding with constitutional principles and Libertarian values advocated by Paul. Those who remember Senator Bary Goldwater will remember he voted against the 1964 Civil Rights Act on the same property rights basis expressed by Rep. Paul on the Mathews show. Senator Barry Goldwater was the Republican Presidential nominee in 1964. Chris Mathews, in typical progressive fashion, implied that Paul was a racist because of his position on the Civil Rights Act. Of course this on...

Who's the "Bubble Head" Now?

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Birthplace of Independent Conservatism MSNBC's Chris Matthews, after deriding Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann as two "bubble headed idiots" has recently shown himself to be, well, to say the very least an uniformed and perhaps delusion progressive. It seems Mr. Matthews believes the Panama Canal is in Egypt. Note the one minute twenty second mark in the following video. Mr. Matthews, in his very own words, proclaims the Panama Canal is in Egypt. I guess bubble headed-ness is something  Chris know a lot about. The Statement More at theblogprof .
