Hart While perusing the blogosphere I came across a comment that read, “The truly sad thing is there are two reasons kids join the military: The first and likely most prominent is to escape poverty and horrendous living conditions at home, second, to satisfy some misguided sense of duty/patriotism that's handed down from one generation to the next.” Now, I haven’t been one to write a blog post about another blogger’s comment, but today I’m compelled to make an exception. Please keep in mind that it does NOT matter WHO wrote this comment so I will NOT divulge that information and I will NOT permit anyone who is familiar with it to inflict any negative or inflammatory rhetoric against this person in the comment section. The following words were obviously written by someone who has been around awhile and loves their country and what it has always stood for. I thank this individual for sharing their thoughts and enticement to get out and vote on November 2, 2010. No we haven’t gone too far to turn back but that will lie on the backs of our kids and grandchildren more than us. We can help if all of us old fogy’s get out and start the turn around in November. He wants them and others across America to know that one should never be ashamed or fearful of sporting Old Glory. Rational Nation USA is proud to Join Chris in support of this cause. America is under attack. Our history, our culture and our way of life has been assailed by forces from within to the point to where if you celebrate America and what it stands for, you are called a racist, a Nazi or a tea-bagger. The latest assault on America came last week when five high school students in California were sent home for the day because they chose to be patriotic and wore t-shirts depicting the American flag on Cinco de Mayo. This act of patriotism was deemed incendiary by one school official and offensive and disrespectful by students of Mexican descent who claimed that this was their day to celebrate Mexico.
