Senator Rand Paul Saying It Exactly Right...

Image
Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth For every self aware, rational, and understanding individual the Confederate Battle Flag is a symbol of human bondage and racism. It has no place anywhere in a modern civilized nation, save a museum of history... PERIOD. While there are those who continue to deny it is racist and talk about heritage, honor, and even religion the saner and much more honest know the truth and we will continue to press the truth until even the most disillusioned can no longer deny it with a straight face. Note what Kentucky Senator Rand Paul had to say on the subject : Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul says he believes the Confederate battle flag is “inescapably a symbol of human bondage and slavery” and needs to go. “No, I agree, I think the flag is inescapably a symbol of human bondage and slavery, and particularly when people use it obviously for murder and to justify hated so vicious that you would kill somebody I think that that symbolism needs to end, ...

Senators Rand Paul and Ron Wyden Stand For Civil Liberties...

Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth Senator Rand Paul, standing his ground was able to deliver on his promise to prevent reauthorization of parts of the Patriot Act, in doing so a small victory for civil liberties was achieved. Next step, to get the so called Freedom Act (ever notice how when the government wants to be more intrusive it seems to call it patriotic, security, and freedom?) amended so it is more respectful of our liberties and rights. The follow nine amendments are one Senators Ron Wyden and Rand Paul have released and want to see voted on on the senate floor. These amendments improve the Freedom Act by insuring civil liberties are belter protected, something we all should applaud. · Amendment 1446: Require the government to get a warrant before collecting personal information from third parties · Amendment 1441: Raise the standard for government collection of call records under FISA from “reasonable grounds” to “probable cause” · Ame...

Party and Ideology Aside Senator Rand Paul Makes Valid Arguments...

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth This fiscal conservative and social libertarian certainly does not agree with or advocate all of Senator Rand Paul's positions. Nor is it clear at this point the Senator from Kentucky has the attributes to eventually assume and execute the duties of the presidency of the United States of America. However, the points the Senator makes in the following video with respect military action and how our nation has reacted to current world events, especially in light of our Constitution, are worth serious consideration. Our world has changed and continues to change at an ever accelerating pace. With the above in mind can someone, anyone, point out errors in Senator Rand Paul's speech? If so what are they and why do you believe they are errors in judgment? Full text of the Senator's speech and be found BELOW THE FOLD . Via: Memeorandum Cross posted @ THE SWASH ZONE .

Senator Rand Paul calls the GOP "stale and moss-covered."...

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny Rand Paul, disliked by the progressives and perhaps by many in the establishment rEpublican power base. Hard to listen to at times, but if one does listen closely Senator Paul makes lots of sense. Perhaps Senator Paul, having a more tolerant attitude towards the civil liberties of all Americans will galvanize a large enough following to overturn the stale and static present rEpublican leadership and build a more inclusive and tolerant party. THE HILL - Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on Thursday told conservative activists the Republican Party had grown "stale and moss covered" and said the GOP needs a more libertarian approach that makes freedom the movement's defining principle. Addressing the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the Kentucky senator offered a revamped version of his father's hands-off libertarian vision for Republicans — and positioned himself as a leader capable of conf...

Congressman Ron Paul, a Man of Integrity...

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny A man of principle and integrity. Representative Ron Paul in response to the rEpub lican pA rty offer of a speaking slot at the national rEpub lican cOnven tion . POLITICO - Mr. Paul, in an interview, said convention planners had offered him an opportunity to speak under two conditions: that he deliver remarks vetted by the Romney campaign, and that he give a full-fledged endorsement of Mr. Romney. He declined. “It wouldn’t be my speech,” Mr. Paul said. “That would undo everything I’ve done in the last 30 years. I don’t fully endorse him for president.” It is a rare thing in the politics of the 21st century when a politician puts principal ahead of politics. A son is not always "a chip off the old block." Paul’s refusal to play ball stands in contrast to his son, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, who at some personal political cost has endorsed Mitt Romney’s bid – and has a speaking slot. The disparate appro...

The Sellout To... Statism Big "R" Republican Style

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny Disappointment all around. Senator Rand Paul, the son of the Libertarian from Texas, Representative Ron Paul, who was the driving force behind, and almost highhandedly responsible for the "New Revolution" and a rebirth of classical liberal values just sold out to Mittens and the statist Republican power structure. His endorsement of Mittens might insure him a shot in 2016 or 2020, bur it also insures the puppet masters will be calling the shots. ( CNN ) - A day after endorsing Mitt Romney, Sen. Rand Paul said it would be an honor to run alongside the presumptive GOP presidential nominee. "A year, year and a half ago, I was a physician in a small town," Paul, the junior Republican senator from Kentucky, told CNN's Don Lemon. "And it would be a great honor to be considered as a vice president for the Republican Party. I think that would be something that anybody who said otherwise would not ...

Rand Paul One Upping the President

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Birthplace of Independent Conservative h/t: Cubachi Rand Paul is right, irrespective of the War Powers Act. What I find so glaring is the hypocrisy of the President. Note closely his statements when he was the candidates and his actions now that he is the President. Altruistic, unconstitutional, and dangerous. A specter of future imperial presidencies? You all decide. To me Rand Paul is sounding a whole lot more Presidential that the President himself. Progressives Are Getting Worried

By: Les Carpenter III Rational Nation USA This morning I was in the mood to check out the chatter over in progressive blog land. So, I dropped in at  The Progressive . As suspected warnings are out not to underestimate the Tea Party movement or it's growing influence and successful candidates, including Rand Paul. For certain the progressive statist left is feeling threatened right now. Their approach will be to use emotionalism and baseless claims in their attempt to discredit everything rational about the  movement. Sometime in our history we either recognize that government has gotten too large, too intrusive, and too  fiscally irresponsible and take steps to reign it in or we lose as a people. Just like Greece is losing now. The charade cannot continue. In his May 20th short commentary Mathew Rothschild, editor of The Progressive magazine had the following to say: After Paul’s victory, ...

The RINO Republicans And Damage Control

Image
By: Les Carpenter III Rational Nation USA Okay, so  now I'm beginning to get the picture. Rand Paul, the Libertarian Republican candidate for Senator from Kentucky, who actually stood on sound principals is only now beginning to get mainstream Republican party support. Of course this will come at the expense of his once stated principals. Lamar Alexander, Republican Senator from Tennessee, a RINO leader stated in Face The Nation he can still support Paul even after his "mistake" on civil rights. Here is what Alexander had to say: "Even a very good baseball player sometimes has a hard time going from AAA to the major leagues," Alexander said of Paul, who recently won his primary campaign over the GOP's preferred candidate. "And that's what happened to him last week. If he'll stick to the jobs, debt and terror and providing a check-and-balance on a runaway government in Washington, he'll be the next Republican senator. We'll...

Palin Does Little To Help Rand Paul's Case

Image
By: Les Carpenter III R ational Nation USA Before I start first let me reiterate I am a solid believer in the principals Rand Paul was addressing after his primary win last Tuesday in Kentucky.  The principal of private property, whether it be individual or business, and the inherent right to do with it as one pleases in so long as it does not threaten the life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness of another is a valid ethical and moral principal. Period. Government has no ethical basis on which to interfere.  At the same time Let me say Maddow's questioning was  not unreasonable When a politician knowingly makes controversial statements they better be d*mn well ready and able to back their statements up with reasoned arguments. Rand Paul failed miserably in this arena. Not because the principals he was discussing were invalid, rather because he was not prepared for the obvious onslaught of questioning he received by Maddow, o...

Rand Paul - The Question on Civil Rights Act

By: Les Carpenter III Rational Nation USA Tuesday was a very good day for those of us who support Rand Paul's Libertarian philosophy of governance. His belief in a limited federal government, fiscal responsibility, a balanced budget, and greater local control reverberates in most people that understand the values this nation was founded on. The right to own and control one's own property,  and or business, is one of the hallmarks of liberty, and it is as important to freedom as the right of free speech.  Also at the core of this countries values is the belief in individual rights, and the governments responsibility to insure and preserve the rights of each individual. Rand Paul, just two days after his blowout win in Kentucky's primary finds himself in a politically precarious spot... The result of his response to a question on civil rights and his belief  the in rights of private sector business owners to serve who they please in a privately h...
