Forgive me please, but the Professor, if you can call him that in good conscience, seems to be a Brown Shirt involved in indoctrinating students into the Progressive ideology and creating as much class envy as possible. There is no adjective to describe this other than PATHETIC . A raping of the contract Professors have with students, which of course is to educate with opposing views, challenge their critical thinking skills, and prepare them for active independent judgement as they enter the adult world of reality and hard knocks. The INDOCTRINATION : What say you?

The knowledge and understanding of history is critically important if a society is to preserve its culture and heritage.. Back in the early 70's when I was in college I recall a competent history teacher telling me of the efforts {even at that time} to revise actual historical fact. He called it revisionist history and he told me there was a definite cultural and ideological force behind it. As I recall he said it was the march of the progressive movement. Texas Board of Education Slights Thomas Jefferson

I have just completed reading (a day late) the article in The New York Times regarding the Texas Board of Education's approval to put a more conservative stamp on social studies (whatever happened to history) and economic text books. The new curriculum standards will put a more favorable light on capitalism,  pronouncing its superiority over other economic systems. At the same time the Founding Father's desires and commitment  to the establishment of a secular government will be questioned. In addition to this the Republican philosophy with respect to politics and government will be presented more positively. I suppose as an independent conservative it would seem only natural to be hopping up and down over these events. However, there are troubling aspects to what has taken place in Texas.
