The Silencing of Legitimate Views...

From: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth Freedom of speech is a right all free people are entitled to. Using good judgement in the exercise of that right is prudent. If making public addresses requires a permit it is advisable to do so. Paul Weston, chairman of the party Liberty GB found this out first when a women, hearing Mr. Weston quote something she found offensive used the fact he did not have a permit (authorization) to get him arrested. Liberty GB - Today Paul Weston, chairman of the party Liberty GB and candidate in the 22 May European Elections in the South East, has been arrested in Winchester. At around 2pm Mr Weston was standing on the steps of Winchester Guildhall, addressing the passers-by in the street with a megaphone. He quoted the following excerpt about Islam from the book The River War by Winston Churchill: "How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a...

The Faces of Tyranny in America

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny I don't often bring back and reprint articles published previously. However, after spending a fair amount of time in what is known as progressive blogistan (or more appropriately the stated... The Pit of Confusion) I decided to visit my own archives. Mostly to refocus my attention on the task ahead. Which of course is to debunk the vile rhetorical venom the left is so full of. Before moving ahead I suppose I should explain to the more conservative and high Libertarian readers why exactly I decided to subject myself to the myriad of misrepresentations, as well as being called everything from a raaaaacist, to a anti Semite, to a bigot, to a drunk, to a child molester, and many other things the confused hate filled left has called me, with not one iota of proof to substantiate it. The "tolerant" left, as they like to called (never mind that it is an erroneous description) has the most effective attack machin...

Freedom of Speech and Possible Unintended Consequences...

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny Societal norms, and our understanding of the meaning of words have changed since the Bill of Rights amended our Constitution. One vivid example is our modern understanding of the first amendment which guarantees freedom of political speech, most specifically that which is the minority view. In other words it gave the people of the United States the iron clad right to speak, via their own mouth whatever political views may be on their mind. Of course as we all know modern society has expanded the right to freedom of speech and it's meaning to include freedom of expression, whatever that expression may be in so long as it does not slander or result in physical injury to someone. In a free society, governed by the rule of law this is as it should be. It is in fact precisely how our founding fathers, as well as all American patriots in 1776 intended it to be. South Carolina AFL-CIO President Donna Dewitt recently enjo...

Leviathan Government To Attempt Control Of Internet Information

Reason TV:... The FCC has just taken initial steps to regulate the Internet service providers the same way it regulates telephone companies. Although Chairman Julius Genachowski has said he would use any regulatory powers with a "light touch," having the FCC control any aspect of the Internet is a really bad idea for at least three reasons. It looks like it's coming folks. The Leviathan statist government will soon be controling our ability to use the internet as a vehicle to protest a  government out of control. Orwellian without a doubt. Thank you progressive collectivists. Cross Posted at Left Coast Rebel . Via:  Memeorandum  Looks

Obama - VS - Fox News

President Obama and his administration are apparently finding it useful to attack the Fox News Network. As Fox tries to remain journalistic by presenting both sides of issues in the news, the Obama Administration apparently either dislikes, fears, or both, the conservative editorial statements made on Fox. Obama and his administration have come out and called Fox News an arm of the Republican Party. Gosh, while this is unlikely, it should surprise no one that Obama has taken such a position. Follow the link here to the breaking news video. The following is an excerpt of a statement made by Anita Dunn, an Obama Administration spokesperson. " What I think is fair to say about Fox -- and certainly it's the way we view it -- is that it really is more a wing of the Republican Party," "They take their talking points, put them on the air; take their opposition research, put them on the air. And that's fine. But let's not p...
