The Present, Awareness, Spirituality -vs- Religion...

In the interest of Reason... … which is not to say there is no such thing as ethical spirituality. Faith, believing in something for which there exists no direct proof, is indeed an INDIVIDUAL choice one makes. Or not. Spirituality is enhanced when one is in the present , free from discursive thinking . Which is to say aware. Thinking is not being aware. Religion, as it is generally understood and accepted in the west today turns ones focus away from being present and sets it squarely on what someone a couple millenniums ago (or longer) was hawking.

In The Pursuit of Truth... #1

Editor's Note: The following article has been changed and updated through the cooperative efforts of  Rational Nation USA and the Left Coast Rebel . Seeking, and ultimately finding the truth requires a searing light of desire for knowledge within oneself. Truth, once found, becomes knowledge and light for future generations. At least that is how this individual sees it... It seems at times Americans fail to seek truth. In politics, we act as though we are more concerned with winning particular ideological arguments we have bought into (some more false than others) than whether they are right or wrong. Many of us cling to false premises even when an argument is lacking in reason, and is contrary to our own rational self-interest. The Values and Principles of Reason...

Classical liberalism - even when it is not explicitly espoused - still has considerable residual influence on the political and economic institutions of the Western world and is having an increasing impact outside the West as well. Atlas Shrugged

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Birthplace of Independent Conservatism Atlas Shrugged, the movie based on Ayn Rand's epic novel will be out soon. In recognition of this monumental accomplishment is the foregoing animated video trailer. A is A, however it is quite likely, even given the rationality of the ethics of Objectivism {Ayn Rands rational philosophy}, that progressives will continue to evade reality and reason. VIDEO: Far be it from this lonely, yet correct objectivist, to convince anybody. It is up to each individual to decide for themselves. Either through clarity and reason, or the dense fog of altruism, evasion, and wishful thinking. We still have the opportunity. The immediate question is, what if anything will we do with it.
