The Looming Sequester and the Republican Strategy...

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny The rEpublicans are getting their strategic plan in place as to how and when to strike. By this I mean how to push the issue (or maybe better stated ignore the issue until it serves their purposes)of possible sequestration to the cliffs edge. All in the hopes that Obama and his fellow democrats cry uncle and become more malleable in the the enlightened rEpublicans. The Hill has a good article laying it all out that really focuses ones attention on the issue. There is a time to stand and fight and there is a time to sit back and wait for the right time to fight. To the rational observer it definitely appears that the rEpublican party doesn't really understand the difference. Republicans have decided that the sequester scheduled for March 1 — not a government-funding bill due at the end of March — is where they’ll make their stand on spending cuts. After the bruising political battles of the last Congress, GOP lead...

As the Cliff Approaches the President and Leadership of Both Parties Fiddle... Really

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny Perhaps this is a large part of the problem? The Weekly Standard - Senate majority leader Harry Reid, a Democrat, made his "fiscal cliff" position clear in a press conference today. "We are not going to do anything," said Reid. Reid added, "We are not taking up anything they are working on over there." The top Democrat in the Senate was explaining his inaction on the House plan, the proposal put forward by Republican John Boehner, the speaker of the House of Representatives. Boehner's plan is being referred to as 'Plan B.' { Read More } But as there always is two sides, maybe this is a small part of the problem? Politico - Speaker John Boehner, using his harshest tone of the fiscal cliff debate, said the White House has “done nothing” since he relented on letting low tax rates lapse on wealthy Americans. “For weeks the White House said if I moved on rates, that they wo...

A Kid in a Candy Store or a Drunken Sailor... You be the Judge

Image
by Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA The nation took a giant of a leap of faith on November 2, 2008. That day we elected perhaps the greatest impostor of all time to the most powerful position in the world, the Presidency of the United States. Twenty months into his administration we find our nation facing increased financial instability with an additional 3 trillion dollars in debt, an unemployment rate of 9.6% with no end in site, home foreclosures nationwide at approximately 4 million units, and a world that is less stable than it was when he took office. Oh, did I mention ObamaCare that was forced down our throats before we had a chance to see and know what was in it and how it would effect us. Given all this (and it is just the tip of the iceberg)it is no wonder this President and his party have lost so much support. The American public can only be fooled so long. All indications are the house built on sand in DC may come tumbling down on November 2, 2010. That is an exhila...

Progressive Collectivism And Obamanomics

By: Les Carpenter III Rational Nation USA As the economies of Greece, Portugal, Spain, and the United Kingdom teeter on the brink of collapse the progressive collectivist governing the United States is following the same  path of mistakes these European counties have. The video illustrates how stark our future outlook is if we continue down this road. However, Europe is waking up to the reality that continued deficit spending to support their welfare states needs a second look. Excepts from Karl Rove's article Obama and the Fiscal 'Road to Hell' on the President's G20 remarks. Mr. Obama's international defeat was self-inflicted. He went to Toronto to press other major nations to do as he has done: Expand government spending, or suffer, in the president's words, "renewed economic hardship and recession." Canada, Germany, Great Britain and most other countries declined Mr. Obama's invitation. Th...

Taxes And Fiscal Policy... You Decide

While this video classifies as a sound bite the numbers are real.  The fiscal direction our country is heading under President Obama is towards more fiscal insanity.  There are many area's that need be looked at and cut beyond just those mentioned here. Neither the Obama administration nor the Congress has the b*lls to address the real problems. So forget about them actually trying to fix them. Just like the last lost administration. You be the judge.
