ObamaCare... What Would Jefferson Do? Nullify For Certain

The question... Is the government mandate requiring individuals to purchase health insure constitutional?  In response to that question fourteen states to date have answered by filing lawsuits against the federal government. Article Ten of The Bill of Rights states, " The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states,  are reserved to the states respectfully, or to the people." I have yet to find any wording in the Constitution that grants the federal government the right to force citizens to purchase and product, service, or anything else. Ayn Rand, perhaps the most misunderstood and maligned philosopher of the 20th century, never wavered from her conviction that individual rights were inalienable, and exceeded the misguided belief that the good of the collective exceeded that of the individual. Rands premise in essence was that free men and women had the right to interact with other free men and women on the basis of mutually agreed upon choice. As such, each individual was free to act as their own independent agent, free to engage in trade as they deemed fit. It goes without saying, and is implicit, that each individual would make decisions based on the mutual benefit of the parties involved.
