Support and Vote Biden 2020 - For Real Leadership and Progress...,

June 24, 2020 - The Lincoln Project’s latest video, “Leadership,” released today, illustrates how a true President leads in a time of crisis and juxtaposes it with the sorry excuse for honorable leadership under Donald J. Trump the past four years.
The spot begins airing today in the critical swing states of Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.
“Joe Biden is a strong, caring leader who can guide us out of the hell Americans find ourselves in,” said John Weaver, co-founder of The Lincoln Project. “It’s imperative Joe Biden wins this November.”
Reed Galen, a co-founder of The Lincoln Project, said, “Joe Biden is the clear choice when it comes to compassionate and decent leadership. In a battle of heart, mind, and character Joe Biden wins by a landslide. We need to ensure that’s reflected in the vote this November.”
No American should live in fear due to a lack of honest leadership. Thankfully, Joe Biden will be elected on November 3rd and with that the healing of our country will begin. The work doesn’t stop there, The Lincoln Project will work tirelessly to make sure Joe Biden is sworn in come January.

The Lincoln Project is a group of prominent Republicans and former Republicans working to defeat the re-election of Donald J. Trump and those who support him.

As The Dotard Administration Flounders and Lies Covid-19 Explodes Again Across The USA...

As the Dotard Administration continues to lie and downplay the severity of the now skyrocketing Covid-19 cases the stark reality and TRUTH is found below.
Ignore the Trumpian bullsh*t emanating from the White House and immerse yourself in grasping and understanding the science and the truth about pandemics and how they spread exponentially.
It may very well save your life of the life of loved ones.
The coronavirus pandemic is getting dramatically worse in almost every corner of the U.S.
The big picture: The U.S. today is getting closer to the worst-case scenario envisioned in the spring — a nationwide crisis, made worse by a vacuum of political leadership, threatening to overwhelm hospitals and spread out of control.
  • Nationwide, cases are up 30% compared to the beginning of this month, and dramatically worsening outbreaks in several states are beginning to strain hospital capacity — the same concern that prompted the nationwide lockdown in the first place.
  • This is the grimmest map in the eight weeks since Axios began tracking the change in new cases in every state.
By the numbers: Over half the country — 26 states — have seen their coronavirus caseloads increase over the past week.
  • New cases are up 77% in Arizona, 75% in Michigan, 70% in Texas and 66% in Florida.
  • California, which has seen steady increases for weeks, recorded a 47% jump in new infections over the past week.
  • These steep increases come after weeks of steadily climbing cases or back-and-forth results across the South, Midwest and West Coast. Only the New York region and parts of New England — the earliest hotspots — have consistently managed to get their caseloads down throughout May and June.
Increased testing does not explain away these numbers. Other data points make clear that we’re seeing a worsening outbreak, not simply getting better data.
  • Seven states, including Arizona, have set records for the number of people hospitalized with coronavirus, and the percentage of all tests that come back positive is also increasing.
  • The whole point of the national lockdown was to buy time to improve testing and give infection levels a chance to level off without overwhelming hospitals. That worked in New York, but as other parts of the country begin to see their outbreaks intensify later, the same risks are back at the forefront.
Between the lines: Axios uses a rolling seven-day average to minimize the effects of any abnormalities in how and when new cases are reported.
What’s next: Younger people are making up a greater share of all cases, and tend to be less susceptible to serious injury or death, so hopefully this spike in new cases won’t be followed by an equivalent spike in deaths.
  • But it’s too early to say that for sure.

Our Corrupt AG & President...

A federal prosecutor is expected to tell House lawmakers Wednesday that the senior-most Justice Department officials pressured government lawyers in Roger Stone’s criminal trial to treat him “differently and more leniently” during his trial, “based on political considerations” and “because of his relationship with the President.”
Aaron Zelinsky, an assistant U.S. attorney in Maryland who previously served on former special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s team, is one of two current Justice Department employees expected to tell the House Judiciary Committee that Attorney General William P. Barr ordered agency officials to pursue politically motivated investigations and court motions, in deference to President Trump and his own preferred policies.
According to a copy of his prepared remarks, Zelinsky plans to testify that prosecutors experienced “heavy pressure from the highest levels of the Department of Justice to cut Stone a break,” and request a lighter sentence he characterized as “virtually unprecedented.” Zelinsky formally objected to the “significant pressure” placed on line prosecutors “to water down and in some cases outright distort events” that led to Stone’s prosecution, activity he called unethical. His objections, Zelinsky intends to say, went unheeded, and he ultimately resigned from the case.

Worth Reading (Even If You've Read It Once) - A Call To Action - Defeat Trump 2020

By George T. Conway III, Steve Schmidt, John Weaver and Rick Wilson.
The authors have worked for or supported numerous Republican campaigns and administrations. This article was originally published in The New York Times.
Patriotism and the survival of our nation in the face of the crimes, corruption and corrosive nature of Donald Trump are a higher calling than mere politics. As Americans, we must stem the damage he and his followers are doing to the rule of law, the Constitution and the American character.
That’s why we are announcing the Lincoln Project, an effort to highlight our country’s story and values, and its people’s sacrifices and obligations. This effort transcends partisanship and is dedicated to nothing less than preservation of the principles that so many have fought for, on battlefields far from home and within their own communities.
This effort asks all Americans of all places, creeds and ways of life to join in the seminal task of our generation: restoring to this nation leadership and governance that respects the rule of law, recognizes the dignity of all people and defends the Constitution and American values at home and abroad.
Over these next 11 months, our efforts will be dedicated to defeating President Trump and Trumpism at the ballot box and to elect those patriots who will hold the line. We do not undertake this task lightly, nor from ideological preference. We have been, and remain, broadly conservative (or classically liberal) in our politics and outlooks. Our many policy differences with national Democrats remain, but our shared fidelity to the Constitution dictates a common effort.
The 2020 general election, by every indication, will be about persuasion, with turnout expected to be at record highs. Our efforts are aimed at persuading enough disaffected conservatives, Republicans and Republican-leaning independents in swing states and districts to help ensure a victory in the Electoral College and majorities that don’t enable and abet Trump’s violations of the constitution; even if that means Democrat control of the Senate and expansion of the Democratic majority in the House.
The American presidency transcends the individuals who occupy the Oval Office. Their personality becomes part of our national character. Their actions become our actions, for which we all share responsibility. Their willingness to act in accordance with the law and our tradition dictate how current and future leaders will act. Their commitment to order, civility and decency are reflected in American society.
Mr. Trump fails to meet the bar for this commitment. He has neither the moral compass nor the temperament to serve. His vision is limited to what immediately faces him — the problems and risks he chronically brings upon himself and for which others, from countless contractors and companies to the American people, ultimately bear the heaviest burden.
But this president’s actions are possible only with the craven acquiescence of congressional Republicans. They have done no less than abdicate their Article I responsibilities.
Indeed, national Republicans have done far worse than simply march along to Mr. Trump’s beat. Their defense of him is imbued with an ugliness, a meanness and a willingness to attack and slander those who have shed blood for our country, who have dedicated their lives and careers to its defense and its security, and whose job is to preserve the nation’s status as a beacon of hope.
Congressional Republicans have embraced and copied Mr. Trump’s cruelty and defended and even adopted his corruption. Mr. Trump and his enablers have abandoned conservatism and longstanding Republican principles and replaced it with Trumpism, an empty faith led by a bogus prophet. In a recent survey, a majority of Republican voters reported that they consider Mr. Trump a better president than Lincoln.
Mr. Trump and his fellow travelers daily undermine the proposition we as a people have a responsibility and an obligation to continually bend the arc of history toward justice. They mock our belief in America as something more meaningful than lines on a map.
Our peril far outstrips any past differences: It has arrived at our collective doorstep, and we believe there is no other choice. We sincerely hope, but are not optimistic, that some of those Republicans charged with sitting as jurors in a likely Senate impeachment trial will do likewise.
American men and women stand ready around the globe to defend us and our way of life. We must do right by them and ensure that the country for which they daily don their uniform deserves their protection and their sacrifice.
We are reminded of Dan Sickles, an incompetent 19th-century New York politician. On July 2, 1863, his blundering nearly ended the United States.
(Sickles’s greatest previous achievement had been fatally shooting his wife’s lover across the street from the White House and getting himself elected to Congress. Even his most fervent admirers could not have imagined that one day, far in the future, another incompetent New York politician, a president, would lay claim to that legacy by saying he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and get away with it.)
On that day in Pennsylvania, Sickles was a major general commanding the Union Army’s III Corps at the Battle of Gettysburg, and his incompetence wrought chaos and danger. The Confederate Army took advantage, and turned the Union line. Had the rebel soldiers broken through, the continent would have been divided: Free and slave, democratic and authoritarian.
Another Union general, Winfield Scott Hancock, had only minutes to reinforce the line. America, the nation, the ideal, hung in the balance. Amid the fury of battle, he found the First Minnesota Volunteers. They were immigrants. Many didn’t speak English. They were the very people the Know Nothings tried to keep out of the country.
They charged, and many of them fell, suffering a staggeringly high casualty rate. They held the line. They saved the Union. Four months later, Lincoln stood on that field of slaughter and said, “It is left to us, the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced.”
We look to Lincoln as our guide and inspiration. He understood the necessity of not just saving the Union, but also of knitting the nation back together spiritually as well as politically. But those wounds can be bound up only once the threat has been defeated. So, too, will our country have to knit itself back together after the scourge of Trumpism has been overcome.

America's Top Goon To Hold Political Rally As Covid-19 Cases Spike...

Another spot on ad spot from The Lincoln Project. America needs fewer anti science and anti fact trumpers who couldn't care less about their fellow Americans and more who put their faith and trust in science and facts.
Skip the rally and protect others as well as yourself.

“Trump’s decision to hold a rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma on the weekend of Juneteenth and in the location of the worst race massacre in American history tells voters all they need to know about him. In a time of multiple crises, Donald Trump has further divided and incited Americans rather than bring us together,” said Stuart Stevens, senior advisor to The Lincoln Project. “It’s a shame that this president has decided, once again, that stroking his own ego is more important than serving the nation.”
“Trump is the largest superspreader of division and hatred we’ve seen in generations,” said John Weaver, co-founder of The Lincoln Project.

Ain't This Quite Something? A Black Women Promoting Institutionalized Systemic Racism...

Conservative Candace Owens Promotes White Supremacy For Fun And Profit

Perverse Pundit: Controversial conservative Candace Owens gets paid to say what white supremacists want to hear.
The fact that the racist propaganda is coming out of the mouth of a pretty black woman only makes it sweeter for her twisted supporters.
Currently Owens is making headlines after smearing George Floyd, the black man who was recently murdered by police in Minnesota, sparking days of international protest against police brutality under the flag of Black Lives Matter.
Speaking about Floyd on a widely shared viral video, Owens smears the dead man, while berating the entire black community for catering to “the bottom denominator of our society.”
In her video, Owens describes Floyd as “a horrible human being,” while declaring:
We cater to the bottom denominator of our society. We are the only community that will get outraged and up and organized and picket and protest to defend the bottom denominator of our community, meaning criminals, burglars, robbers, criminals, anything. You commit a crime, only black Americans will be out picketing to defend the criminals. It’s not something white Americans do, Jewish Americans.

Owens continues, claiming “racially targeted police brutality against black Americans” is a “myth”:

The whole concept of racialized police brutality is a myth. All you have to do is sit down and do basic mathematics to discover the entire narrative we’ve been sold is a lie. It’s a lie. There is no racially targeted police brutality against black Americans. The only thing we’re doing disproportionately in America is committing crimes.

Owens goes further, arguing that racism “doesn’t exist as a problematic thing in this country”:

And we’ll ally ourselves with the far-left antifa thugs, who know exactly what they’re doing. The left think we’re dumb, OK? We have to stop proving them right.
What do you think this is really about? All they care about is power, all they want to do is destroy your neighborhoods, burn them down, shut down your businesses, and get you on government dependence, at the same time poo-pooing you and telling you they’re going to fight the boogeyman of racism that doesn’t exist as a problematic thing in this country.

56.4K people are talking about this

Bottom line: Describing George Floyd as “a horrible human being,” conservative Candace Owens claims “the whole concept of racialized police brutality is a myth” and racism “doesn’t exist as a problematic thing in this country.”

What some folks will do for PROFIT!! Facts, Truth, and Integrity be damned I guess. But America's white nationalists and fascists sure do enjoy manipulating her and paying her for her words.

More From The Lincoln Project On Our Liar In Chief...

New from The Lincoln Project - June 9, 2020- Contrary to all evidence, since his inauguration, President Donald J. Trump has been lying about the size of the crowds that he says have come out to cheer him on.
Finally, this week, in cities across America, from coast to coast, and small towns in between, crowds even larger than he ever imagined possible have gathered — not to cheer Trump on — but in solidarity with one message: It’s time for him to go.
Donald Trump, the American people are speaking directly to you with a simple message: It’s time to start packing your bags

Indeed Donald J. Trump has told thousands of documented lies since assuming office. He is, a pathological liar as well as a sociopath. His lack of leadership, corruption, divisiveness, and non existent emotional intelligence is appalling as well as dangerous. Trump, in 3 1/2 years has shown America in real time what a corrupt, inept, and egregiously incompetent man looks like. The crowds now filling the streets protesting the very thing Trump and his sycophants'  CHOOSE to ignore is all anyone needs to know about the character of the "man" sitting in The Peoples White House.

52% Of Right Thinking Americans Believe Donald J. Trump Is A Racist...

Words From the Grave... So Very Timely Today...

June 6, 2020- The Lincoln Project has grave concerns about the Trump Administration’s response to the Americans who today choose to exercise their First Amendment rights to peacefully assemble and to petition our government in our nation’s capital.
These laws are the foundation of our Republic. And even while serving as the president of a divided nation, Abraham Lincoln held these principles above all others.
This makes Lincoln’s concerns so long ago relevant again today:“Before entering upon so grave a matter as the destruction of our national fabric…with all its benefits, its memories, and its hopes… would it not be wise to ascertain precisely why we do it?”
It is almost as if he were speaking from his grave to question our elected leaders today: “Will you risk the commission of so fearful a mistake?”

November 2020 is perhaps the most important election in a generation. Will we continue to accept the horrors perpetrated upon America by Donald J. Trump or will America listen to words from the past that are true? The choice is ours.

Isn't It Time We Have a President Again Who Accepts His Responsibility and Doesn't Pass the Buck?.../

Leadership is so much more than just having the authority to order (demand) change. It is more about these four important characteristics. 1) Vision 2) Motivating people to accept and achieve your vision. 3) Accepting responsibility for the outcome of your decisions. Good or bad. 4) Adjusting and changing course after asking for and receiving HONEST input from key people when you make a mistake.

Donald J. Trump has failed miserably on ALL four parameters of leadership. Why? Simply because he is not a leader. The Lincoln Project  points out specifically how Trump has failed miserably in acc3epting responsibility.

June 6, 2020 - The Lincoln Project today released an ad exploring how in the hours before Allied troops prepared to storm the shores of Normandy in France, General Dwight Eisenhower took a moment to put words to paper just in case their mission failed.
As Supreme Allied Commander, Eisenhower understood that if D-Day landings failed, the responsibility would be on him. He understood and accepted that fact.
The Normandy invasion led to Germany’s defeat less than a year later. Eisenhower in command, both as commander of Allied forces and President of the United States was marked by courage, responsibility and dedication to America.
“In America, ultimately responsibility for our federal government rests with the President of the United States,” said Reed Galen, co-founder of The Lincoln Project. “Regardless of the failure, President Donald J. Trump tells us again and again ‘No, I don’t take responsibility at all.’ ’’
“It’s time again for America to elect a leader as president,” said co-founder John Weaver.

More From The Lincoln Project...

The following is the work of The Lincoln Project. A group of patriotic republicans working inform and further bring to light the authoritarian dictatorial character of Donald J. Trump. The material is presented exactly as The Lincoln Project published it.

June 1, 2020

The Lincoln Project recognizes the long and distinguished national service of General Milley and honors him for it. Likewise, the Lincoln Project appreciates the service of Secretary of Defense Esper. Nevertheless, their participation in the infamous events of June 1st was an egregious lapse in judgement, and they should resign their offices.
On that day, in front of the White House, the People’s House, Americans exercising their first amendment rights to speech and assembly were assaulted, tear-gassed, pepper-sprayed and beaten on the direct orders of the Attorney General of the United States.
The purpose of this assault was not done in the name of public safety, but to clear a path for President Donald Trump to appear in front of St John’s Episcopal Church to be photographed holding a Bible.
During this 45-minute spasm of violence, the United States Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Bible, and historic St. John’s Church were desecrated by President Trump. He was accompanied by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley and Secretary of Defense Mark Esper.
Secretary Esper claimed ignorance, stating: “I didn’t know where I was going.” He should have. His excuse is unacceptable for the man who serves as the civilian leader of the American military. It would be unacceptable for a 19-year-old rifleman.
Esper’s comments to governors earlier that day about controlling the “battlespace,” otherwise known as the streets of American cities, were appalling and represented a chilling lack of awareness of his duties and the role of the US military in American society.
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff chose to accompany the president wearing his ACU (Army Combat Uniform.) General Milley surveyed the scene of the assault as if he was assessing recently secured territory on a battlefield.
It is unacceptable for the Secretary of Defense and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs to ever participate in political stunts. The events of June 1st will linger in infamy: 45 minutes of authoritarian theater culminating in an outbreak of violence against Americans peacefully exercising their rights.
The presence of the Secretary and Chairman at this ignominious event assaults the apolitical traditions of the US Military and has transformed them into political partisans. Their complicity is dangerous; it undermines the faith of the American people in the armed forces of the United States and politicizes the defense of the nation.
Honor and fidelity to their oaths require them to accept responsibility for their misjudgments but also to rebuke the conduct of the actions and manipulation of the United States military for Donald Trump’s political purposes. They must set an example. Their duty requires it. They must resign.
Very Respectfully,
The Lincoln Project

June 3, 2020
June 3, 2020-The Lincoln Project’s latest video, “War Zone,” released today, lays bare the state of the nation under President Donald Trump’s regime. In this moment of upheaval and unrest, our country needs real leadership.
“Donald Trump has completely failed at governing,”said George Conway, co-founder of The Lincoln Project. “He’s no longer hiding that he’s a brazen authoritarian, so desiring of control and power that he’s willing to turn our once peaceful cities into war zones for his own political gain, at the direct expense of American lives.”
Reed Galen, co-founder of The Lincoln Project, said, “Donald J. Trump has no qualms about inciting violence and mayhem, from the safety of his White House bunker. In an explicit show of totalitarianism, he has taken the U.S. military and police forces and mobilized them against our own citizens. The United States must choose: America or Trump?”
No American should live in fear due to the color of their skin, their political affiliation, or their religion. Donald J. Trump has taken the side of the oppressor and the American people have made it clear they will not stand. The Lincoln Project will fight to protect all Americans and our democracy and ensure that Donald J. Trump is not re-elected come November, and Joe Biden is sworn into office come January.

Trump Gases and Fires Rubber Bullets at His Own Citizens as They Peacefully Protest the Murder of George Floyd by Minneapolish Police Officers...

As the USA and the World watches an emotionally disturbed and dangerous man violate the constitutional rights of his own people. Pathetic Indeed!~

The True Colors of Trump... Lincoln Project Ad 6/01/2020

June 1, 2020 - The Lincoln Project’s latest ad, Treason, released today, laments American citizens who fly the confederate flag as a veil of “patriotism” when it is nothing more than a symbol of a treasonous, and failed uprising against the United States.
Reed Galen, co-founder of The Lincoln Project said, “The Confederate flag is a symbol of slavery and disunion. Its history is one of sowing division and oppression. Those who fly it proudly are celebrating the legacy of American slavery, the wrongful, and violent insurrection that followed, and the oppressive Jim Crow regime that came into power in many states.”
“No patriotic American should brandish or proudly celebrate the iconography of a rebellion that resulted in tremendous devastation, the loss of more than 620,000 American lives, and the continued subjugation of Black America,” Galen continued. “Our namesake, Abraham Lincoln fought to preserve the Union. The Lincoln Project will do the same during the course of this campaign.”

President Trump’s co-opting of the Confederate Flag and relationships with known white nationalists like Stephen Miller, Steve Bannon and David Duke shows his true beliefs. His blatant racism, dog whistles and disinterest in unifying the country, particularly in recent days following the death of George Floyd, show just how far he is willing to go to stoke fear, incite violence, and ensure the country descends into further chaos up to the election.
John Weaver said: “Come this November, we’ll make sure Donald Trump and MAGA join the Confederacy as another group of failures history never forgets.”

Yesterday, June 01, 2020, Donald J. Trump gassed and used rubber bullets on an assembly of peaceful citizen protestors who were protesting racial injustice and the murder of George Floyd by four Minneapolis police officers. Trump ordered this  to disperse the crowd so he would have a clear path for the walk to his hypocritical photo op of him holding an upside down bible in front of a church he has never entered to attend a service.

Trump is a fake, a demagogoue, a charlatan, and a Clear and Present Danger to America and every single individual living in this nation today. Trump MUST BE DEFEATED IN NOVEMBER 2020 if America is to save her republic and the principles and values it has always claimed to uphold.

AMERICA IN CRISIS...

It is probably safe to assume a majority of people who use the internet are tired and perhaps sick of the level of vitriol and down right unmitigated nastiness we see on a daily basis over politics and government. We all likely have our own perceptions as to which ideology is most guilty and which is the most egregiously so. We leave that judgement to each individual to decide for themselves.

As the great state of Massachusetts, led by a competent, capable, effective, thoughtful, respected and admired republican governor and his team of mostly democrats (yes national republican office holders and their constituency it is possible) work through the graduated reopening process which begins May 18, 2020 this writer's thoughts have turned to considering the libertarianism/conservativism/liberalism/progressivism dynamics. For this we offer the following definitions of terms.

Libertarianism - Libertarianism is a political philosophy that focuses on the rights of individuals. It is the core belief in libertarianism that individuals have the right to do whatever they want with their person or possessions, as long as they do not infringe upon the same rights of others.

Conservatism - As a general ideology, Conservatism is opposed to the ideals of Liberalism and Socialism. Conservatism generally refers to right-wing politics which advocate the preservation of personal wealth and private ownership (Capitalism) and emphasize self-reliance and Individualism.

Liberalism - A political doctrine that takes protecting and enhancing the freedom of the individual to be the central problem of politics. Liberals typically believe that government is necessary to protect individuals from being harmed by others, but they also recognize that government itself can pose a threat to liberty. As the revolutionary American pamphleteer Thomas Paine expressed it in Common Sense (1776), government is at best “a necessary evil.” Laws, judges, and police are needed to secure the individual’s life and liberty, but their coercive power may also be turned against him. The problem, then, is to devise a system that gives government the power necessary to protect individual liberty but also prevents those who govern from abusing that power.

Progressivism -  A political philosophy in support of social reform. It is based on the idea of progress in which advancements in science, technology, economic development and social organization are vital to the improvement of the human condition.

Socialism, a most over used and IMO misunderstood concept will no be part of this discussion. We'll save that for possibly another day.

Note that Liberalism and Libertarianism have commonality in that they both hold the rights of the individual are paramount and that one of the primary purposes of government is to protect the rights of the individual. Liberalism recognizes the dangers inherent in government and all governments tendency to abuse its powers in use against the very people it is supposed to represent. Hence the founders recognition of the importance of, and their focus on developing a system of  rule of law.  As opposed to the more common practice of rule by divine right or simple dictatorship.

Modern progressivism is essentially liberalism with a greater faith and focus on the benevolent powers of the federal government  and its potential for furthering social progress and social and economic equity and justice through harnessing advancements in science and technologies to further the greater good of society. Progressivism like liberalism believes in majority rule of law.

It is apparent that our founders intended that the law would be determined by the  majority. It is also apparent from the Bill of Rights that our founders and forefathers intended that there not ever exist a government whereby the majority could and would create a governmental  tyranny by the majority.

Back to libertarianism. Liberty is the root word of both libertarianism and liberalism. For liberty is the life blood of a truly free society. While liberalism recognizes that governments must exit to create and maintain an effective social order and protect the liberties of all libertarianism in its full realization would ultimately lead to anarchy. Most libertarians believe in very limited government and that as long as one doesn't hurt anther or take another's property they are free to do whatever they like. As one can readily see the missing and therefore problematic issue is the lack of concern for the collective health of the society itself in which they live and work. Liberalism on the other hand recognizes the need for structure as well as the need for some governmental controls.

Conservatism is a political philosophy that believes preservation of wealth and private property (Capitalism) is a paramount function of government. Conservatism is adamantly opposed to the political philosophies f liberalism and socialism. Essentially conservatism is a political philosophy that supports and encourages selfishness in the worst sense of the concept. It is often said that conservatism says I got mine to hell with yours. Certainly not all conservatives really feel that way however many do,

As this writer sat and contemplated all the ramifications of each  were they operating at full potential it became easier to see that the only true American political ideology is liberalism. A philosophy that recognizes the importance of individual rights, individualism,  freedom of choice, and yet holds that government must protect the people from potential abuses of power by their government.

Today in America we are, whether one wishes to believe so or not, facing a crises of conscience unlike anything this nation has seen since the close of The Civil War and its aftermath. Regardless of what folks may wish to believe the presidency of Donald J. Trump has brought this nation to a point where it must confront the very real danger of losing our democratic republic. If that happens it will be because we have lost our soul.
