Those tax and spend American hating big "D" even bigger statists? Maybe Santorum and the Evangelicals and Catholics just didn't pray enough? All snark and kidding aside folks, pointing the bony finger of blame ain't gonna fix the very real and threatening economic disaster looming just over the horizon. Wouldn't it be a really novel approach if intelligent and duly elected representatives and senators sat down and worked the problems through? With the though in mind of actually coming up with solutions of course. Oh, that right. If the 535 plus 100 were intelligent they would have already been doing just that. So, I'm wondering... House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer while acknowledging Americans are right that Congress isn't working well has decided it is after all the voters fault. Following is what Mr. Hoyer had to say. THE HILL - The Maryland Democrat said voters are “absolutely right” to think that “Congress isn’t working very well.” But that dysfunction, he said, is largely of their own making. “The American people have every right to be angry [and] disappointed by the performance of the Congress,” Hoyer told reporters in the Capitol. “Of course, the American people have also elected people with hard stances, so that to some degree the American people are realizing the results of their votes. “If elections have consequences — which I think they do — some of those consequences are getting what you vote for,” Hoyer added. “In this cas...

Congress Approval Rating Nearing Single Digit

By: Les Carpenter III Rational Nation USA Congress has reached it's lowest approval ratings since 1973. Gallup's 2010 Confidence in Institutions survey has Congress ranked at dead last with a 11% approval rating. In other words only a mere 11% of Americans have a a strong feeling of confidence in the institution that is supposed to represent their interests. The poll, taken between July 8th and July 11th, shows a 6% drop in approval since 2009 when it stood at 17%. Fully 50% of Americans say the have "very little" or no confidence in Congress, up 12% from 2009. In addition confidence in the Presidency has fallen a full 15 percentage points to 36% since June 2009. President Barrack Hussein Obama's ratings have fallen a full 11 percentage points to 47?% during the same period.
