Family Values, The Trump's, The GOP, and the Evangelical Thing...

I'm struggling mightily with this "Family Values" concept. Especially since the President and the First "Lady" seem to be the exact opposite of your conventional view of and on  family values. It has always been my understanding that the GOP, Evangelicals, and conservatives place Family Values very near if not at the very top  of the value pole. Either I've missed something or the Trump's, the GOP, the Evangelicals, and other conservatives that suppoort Trump and the GOP are huge hypocrites. My money is place on the latter. How about yours? After eight years of witnessing countless adorable displays of affection during the Obama administration, the current first couple looks absolutely despondent in comparison. But the Trumps are not the Obamas, which is pretty much obvious daily. The Trumps themselves have depicted their marriage as shallow as the sand traps at Mar-a-lago. According to the  New York Times , in 2005, the newlywed Melania...

Interesting PIC(S) Of the President Elect...

Image
We wonder if Trump forgot this picture is out there. Would love to hear Donnie stumble on this one. Donald Trump has nothing but love for Saudi Arabia… in front of the Saudis… and nothing but hatred for Islam… in front of Republicans. Anyone else see a contradiction here? More Where This Came From

Americans Moving Away From Conservatism...

Image
Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth Recent polling indicates liberals are gaining ground with the American public (electorate) and conservatives are losing ground by a greater margin. It is likely that conservatives will fail to ask the question why this is happening and it is even more likely they will fail to search for honest answers to that question. Conservatives (republicans), unable to face a changing world and the realities that accompany change, will simply bury their has deeper in the sand and double down on old worn out clichés that never worked in the first place. Putting the foregoing aside for a moment; the biggest problem conservatives/republicans must overcome is their hypocrisy with respect to spending and balanced budgets. While the conservative/republican/evangelical base is out of step with the American people on most social issues the conservative/republican fiscal myths have finally caught up to them. Whether they wish to accept this truth s of course up...

Anarchy in Ferguson...

Image
Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth Violence, looting, and rioting commenced last night in Ferguson Missouri following the announcement of the grand jury decision. Reaction to the decision not to prosecute the police officer who shot and killed Michael Brown is as anticipated. Ferguson is know dealing with people who can only be considered anarchists. In response to a decision they did not agree with they are now creating additional victims. Innocent people who having nothing to do with the legal decision are having their businesses and property destroyed. Rule of law means nothing to these individuals. In fits of irrational rage they are destroying property within their own community and creating destruction, not to mention jeopardizing public safety. Unacceptable under any circumstance these actions must be denounced in no uncertain terms and law enforcement must be allowed to restore order and calm. Having said the forgoing , America has a race problem. Inequities of h...

Big Money Liberal Mega-Donors and Their Dilemma...

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth I find the following article fascinating. However given the tendency to class warfare not at all surprising. From POLITICO it is a must read. Some good stuff and more not so good stuff. Our informed and educated voting public should take these things seriously and act to force real change. Given the state of present day America it is questionable if much, or even anything, will change. Too many people are just going along for the ride , too busy or ambivalent to care. David Brock has a message for liberal millionaires: Don’t sweat being called hypocrites. Brock, a former “right-wing hit-man”- turned-top-big-money-Democratic-operative, is part of a behind-the-scenes campaign to convince donors it’s OK to attack the Koch brothers for spending millions of dollars while doing the exact same thing for the left. “You’re not in this room today trying to figure out how to rig the game so you can be free to make money poisonin...

Clinton's Estate Taxes...

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth It is one thing to advocate for an estate tax to keep the nation from eventually (possibly) being heavily influenced by inherited wealth as the Clinton's have done. Apparently it is quite another to actually pay them, at least for Bill and Hillary. They are taking full advantage of financial strategies that benefit the top 1 percent of the nation. You know, those individuals that liberals love to hate. Well, when it seems politically expedient to do so. Don't get me wrong, personally the death tax rubs me the wrong. But really, wouldn't it make sense for those advocating hefty estate taxes to at least opt out of the very benefits you have politically and publicly been against? I mean if you're wanting to be a leader shouldn't you set an example? Somehow do as I say, not as I do just doesn't cut it. Or at least it shouldn't. Bloomberg - Bill and Hillary Clinton have long supported an estate t...

Ah, the Stench Of Hypocricy...

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny It has been fascinating to watch President Obama go after Romney because of his experience and record with Bain Capital, a private equity firm. Via: Fox News Channel Even more so considering the evident hypocrisy. Via: Fox News Channel However, we must remember anything goes in American politics and the obsession for power. Truth and integrity be damned! Via: Memeorandum

Oh the Hypocrisy! What To Do With the Children?

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny Political hypocrisy has a long reach and is certainly not a lonely child. Power Line - The Budget Control Act is the compromise on federal spending that the Republicans and Democrats entered into last summer, as part of the deal whereby the Republicans agreed to increase the federal debt limit. That increase was conditioned on spending restraint that was spelled out specifically in the BCA. Thus, for the current fiscal year, discretionary spending was capped at $1.047 trillion. That couldn’t be any clearer. But when Kent Conrad, outgoing Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, forwarded the Senate Appropriations Committee its spending authority, the number was higher by $14 billion–$1.061 trillion. This is a clear violation of the Budget Control Act. But the Democrats’ number is by no means random. On the contrary, the $14 billion that Conrad added is enough to match the discretionary spending that was called for in...

Calling a Proverbial Spade a Spade... Part 2

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny This site came out and leveled criticism at Rush Limbaugh for his characterization of Sandra Fluke last week, and general criticism of conservatives who would not or could not stand up and do the same. The left went into orbit over El Rushbo's comments. However it seems the left suffers from the double standard when one of their own utters words equally, if not more offensive to describe a conservative woman. From Power Line : Millions of Americans voted for Barack Obama in the hope that he would be a trailblazer who would conduct the presidency in a new way. Well, he has: Obama has been the most divisive president in our modern history, unabashedly stirring up hate against not only his political enemies, but against private citizens who exercise their right to participate in our democracy. The most recent hatefest has been directed against Rush Limbaugh, and Obama has personally stirred the pot. Of course, Ob...

Maximus Hypocritus... Nancy Pelosi

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -v s - Tyranny Why just imagine! Nancy Pelosi made over 200% return on investment while blocking credit card reform for over two years. What a surprise. The champion of the people, a hypocrite as many of us have known all along. Big Government - Former Speaker of the House–and current Minority Leader–Nancy Pelosi apparently bought $1 million to $5 million of Visa stock in one of the most sought-after and profitable initial public offerings (IPO) in American history, thwarted serious credit card reform for two years, and then watched her investment skyrocket 203%. Skip In early 2008, Nancy Pelosi and her real estate developer husband, Paul, were given an opportunity to buy into a Visa IPO. It was a nearly impossible feat–one that average citizens almost certainly could never achieve. The vast majority of purchase opportunities went to institutional investors, large mutual funds, or pension funds. Despite Pelosi’s consistent rai...

Micheal Moore - The Far Left's Supreme Hypocrite

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty - v s- Tyranny Michael Moore, filmmaker and advocate for the "99"%. Wealthy by anyone's definition of well off. Certainly he is living well beyond the means of even the top echelon of the middle class. Not that anyone should begrudge the man for effectively marketing his questionable talents and reaping the benefits thereof. But doesn't his his own lifestyle versus his words speak volumes? What has Mr. Moore done to help make the life of some of the "99"% easier? Hypocrite? You the readership of this humble blog be the judge. Big Hollywood - Left-wing filmmaker Michael Moore has been touring Occupy Wall Street demonstrations across the country–including some of the most violent, such as Occupy Oakland–urging activists to continue their fight against the wealthy “one percent” of Americans. Initially, Moore tried to deny that his massive wealth made him a member of that one percent. Even when forced to...

The Hypocritical Left On Civility... Or the Justifiable Reasons for the Lack Thereof

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Birthplace of Independent Conservatism Paul Krugman, America's premier source of socialist progressive drivel, straight from the cloistered halls of progressive academia and The New York Times , is encouraging the faithful -- that would be pResident Obama and all socialist progressives -- to forgo civility. Seems Krugman has forgotten this . Excerpt from Krugman's NY Time article . Last week, President Obama offered a spirited defense of his party’s values — in effect, of the legacy of the New Deal and the Great Society. Immediately thereafter, as always happens when Democrats take a stand, the civility police came out in force. The president, we were told, was being too partisan; he needs to treat his opponents with respect; he should have lunch with them, and work out a consensus. That’s a bad idea. Equally important, it’s an undemocratic idea... Which brings me to those calls for a bipartisan solution. Sorry to be cynical, b...
