It Is Time To Act, HRC Won The Vote Of A Majority Of Americans...

Rational Nation USA
Purveyor of Truth

SHE WON THE POPULAR VOTE.
There is no reason Trump should be President.

On December 19, the Electors of the Electoral College will cast their ballots. If they all vote the way their states voted, Donald Trump will win. However, they can vote for Hillary Clinton if they choose. Even in states where that is not allowed, their vote would still be counted, they would simply pay a small fine - which we can be sure Clinton supporters will be glad to pay!

Mr. Trump is unfit to serve. His scapegoating of so many Americans, and his impulsivity, bullying, lying, admitted history of sexual assault, and utter lack of experience make him a danger to the Republic.

Secretary Clinton WON THE POPULAR VOTE and should be President.

Click on the post body to read the complete write up an go to the petition. There are already 4,000,000 signatures of patriotic Americans counselling the electors to do the right thing.

Please take the time to read and digest The Troubling Reason The Electoral College Exists. It is a simple fact many of us may have forgotten.

  1. Hillary is on track to run up a decisive popular vote win. But that will not change the election. We use the winner of the popular vote to elect every other branch of elective government, save the president: senators, representatives, state legislators and governors. The electoral college defies the democratic idea of one man/woman one vote. The millions of votes cast in the populous states like California are discounted in the electoral college.

    1. You are right of course. But the petition with millions of signatures is more civilized than what has been occurring on the streets.

Just need to shine the spotlight in every corner. Then the process should to move for a constitutional amendment.

One can actuallymake a logical argument for the EC, and, many intelligent people have and do.

  3. The fact is that when you vote for a presidential candidate, you are not actually voting for that person. You are voting for a slate of Electoral College electors representing party of your selected candidate. The States set the procedure for selecting their electors, but generally it is the state political party that makes the choices. To think that the republican selected electors would vote for the democrat is simply not realistic, no matter how many people sign the petition.

    1. True Jerry. The system is working exactly as design. Whether that is a good thing in the 21st century or not depends on ones perspective I suppose.

At the end of the day it simply is what it is. To change the is will require a CA (constitutional amendment), something not likely to happen anytime soon. Given the constitutional requirements.

We can expect to see repeats of 2000 and 2026 to occur again. Perhaps at an increasing rate of occurrence.

  4. So the Trump claim of rigged elections has a smidgeon of merit. The electorate demographics are startling:
62% thought that Trump was unfit to be president. But 48% voted for him. So 10% of his votes came from people who thought he was unfit. We hope the logicians are pondering that. IMO, it is not good to have one
party dominate all branches of government; it is very bad when they become smug and arrogant. We continue
    to live in interesting times.

  6. We are living in such interesting times.

President Elect Donald Trump won fair and square, by the rules that ruled this election. HRC never saw what hit her. This has been a gigantic failure for the DNC but they decided before the election that they wanted HRC. They had the candidate they wanted, if WIKI is to be believed, so I shed few tears for HRC.

I said months ago she was going to struggle and that in fact Trump had a good chance of winning.

I will admit I did not see him flipping Wisconsin though. That was amazing. Perhaps if HRC had campaigned there, or in Michigan, she might have squeaked in, but she ignored those two states. Why? Arrogance? Chutzpah? Ignorance? We may never know.

But while we are indeed in for a time of one party rule, it is not as if we could not see this coming. Liberals are clustered geographically on the coasts. And that, along with the country's urban centers, is where her vaunted popular margin is coming from.

HRC did not run a 50 state campaign, did not reach out to white voters, and did not reach out to blue collar voters. She had no outreach to evangelical voters. Please tell me how she expected to win? Was it simply by convincing people that Trump was too horrible? That might have worked better if she herself was likable, but she was not.

VP Biden and even Bill Clinton implored the DNC to focus on these voters, but her smarty pants campaignpeople felt those guys were dinosaurs with no understanding of campaigning in 2016.

Sorry guys, I'm no fan of Trump, but the Electoral College gives a voice to all of America. If the Dems want to win again, they'd better learn to talk to rural America, or relocated some of their partisans to Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina... then they might win more regularly.

Unfortunately the nation's political and social discourse has been running in a negative direction for a long time, somethine that does not bode well for the USA's future.

    2. Dave with all due respect, IMO, learning to talk to rural America successfully appeared to be loud,
untrue and filled with invective, insults and attacks. Like Wisconsin's Scott Walker, if Trump had been in college politics, he too would have been banned like Marquette did with Walker. If that is
what it now takes to win elections, we cringe with the Founding Fathers.

    3. Dave, it seems to me that nothing like a focus on tiny states or rural America has resulted from the EC.

Instead, time and again, the candidates focus on "swing states" like Ohio, while ignoring states both large and small that the parties have "in the bag", like Delaware and California.

    5. Guys, the EC is not going away. It's what it is. But I do think we could have talked better to the rural states. And we could have done it intelligently. Starting with going there. Bernie was loud yes, but that's Bernie. He was not untrue and filled with invective. HRC made no attempt to woo his voters in either Wisconsin or Michigan. None.

Where was the Dem to say the following...

We know you're hurting. You've played by the rules, done everything right and the rug has been pulled our from under you. American was built on and because of your character and backbone and as a nation we have a sacred duty to honor that and make sure you can get a good paying job to support your families.

We propose a 1 billion dollar program to repair the nations roads. This will provide jobs for you and your community for years. These are hard, backbreaking jobs. The type that build America and we need you Wisconsin, Michigan [insert depressed state] to help us rebuild the core of our great country.

And if there is no job available for you, because the truth is, our world and economy is changing, and you cannot be retrained for the new jobs of the 21st century, then the Democratic is calling on Congress to provide for you and your family. You've served America well throughout your lifetime. You've worked hard for us, now it is Americas time to work hard for and invest in you!

And I dare the GOP to oppose this vital, important program that will help, support and honor those who have given so much to this great country.

How come no Dem can, or will say something like that?

  8. Acknowledged, Hillary made mistakes. But mistakes offer no explanation or excuse for putting a bigot, malicious bully, misogynist, charlatan, and fascist in the White House. Frankly, I think America has lost all moral bearings. Steve Bannon, a vicious anti-Semite, is named to a top advisory position. Newt Gingrich wants to resurrect the former House of Un-American Activities, a McCarthy-era atrocity of smear, oppression, and persecution. Since the election, daily reports of hate crimes and violent attacks on Black and Latino minorities, on Muslims ... on women (one was sucker punched in a New York cafe today).

None of this is acceptable to me. Who among my neighbors voted for this madman? Who among the anonymous faces at the checkout counter? Am I free to reveal or express myself in public without some maniac attacking me? No, I no longer feel safe here.

My great-grandfather was executed by the Nazis, and the alt-right is a true fascist movement capable repeating history. Since the election, I have given serious thought to putting my hose up for sale and leaving the country. I can no longer stay here under these conditions.

I am also in total agreement that one party government, regardless of party is not a good situation in general.

    2. Jerry, I doubt you are going see Congress flip any time soon. The Dems are defending in eight states HRC lost last week whereas the GOP is defending in all safe states. The Dems look to lose seats in that election.

The House will be worse. Years ago the GOP took to winning statehouses, and with it the right to draw voting district lines, commonly known as gerrymandering. Currently they have 33 state legislatures under control. You can guess what this means. No flipping the House.

The Dems have suffered tremendously under President Obama. This is what the GOP dealt with for years after WW II, and is what the Dems are staring in the face right now. A generation of control of Congress has passed from one party to another.

  10. Trump will bring Churchill back to the White House after Obama embarrassed himself and our nation by removing the bust and replacing it with a picture of himself on the cover of the radical leftist rag, The New Yorker.

Barack Obama EMBARRASSED HIMSELF AND THE NATION when he removed the Churchill bust from the Oval Office in 2009

    ReplyDelete
  11. Well, no, but nylu certainly just embarrassed yourself. A regular occurance.

Summary: The bust of Winston Churchill has a prominent place in the White House -- in the Residence, outside the Treaty Room.
Lately, there’s been a rumor swirling around about the current location of the bust of Winston Churchill. Some have claimed that President Obama removed the bust of Winston Churchill from the Oval Office and sent it back to the British Embassy.

Now, normally we wouldn’t address a rumor that’s so patently false, but just this morning the Washington Post’s Charles Krauthammer repeated this ridiculous claim in his column. He said President Obama “started his Presidency by returning to the British Embassy the bust of Winston Churchill that had graced the Oval Office.”

This is 100% false. The bust still in the White House. In the Residence. Outside the Treaty Room.

News outlets have debunked this claim time and again. First, back in 2010 the National Journal reported that “the Churchill bust was relocated to a prominent spot in the residence to make room for Abraham Lincoln, a figure from whom the first African-American occupant of the Oval Office might well draw inspiration in difficult times.” And just in case anyone forgot, just last year the AP reported that President Obama “replaced the Oval Office fixture with a bust of one of his American heroes, President Abraham Lincoln, and moved the Churchill bust to the White House residence.”

In case these news reports are not enough for Mr. Krauthammer and others, here’s a picture of the President showing off the Churchill bust to Prime Minister Cameron when he visited the White House residence in 2010.

Click above to read full statement. BTW, there are multiple credible sources who have bebunked the LIE. We suggest you do some reseach rather than by the BS from the BS'ers.

  14. Donald Trump won fair and square?! What about Sec of State Kris Kobach's Interstate Crosscheck? Investigative journalist Greg Palast reports that 1.1 million voters were "scrubbed" from the rolls because they were suspected of being "double voters" (voting in more than one state). Which means they showed up and were told that their name was not on the roll. They could still vote, but they had to use a "provisional ballot". The person left thinking they had voted, but later the provisional ballot was thrown out/not counted. Because the election officials looked at the ballot and said "yes, we were right, that person was not entitled to vote". But the voter is gone, doesn't know their ballot was thrown out, and can't challenge the decision. That's how Trump "won" in Michigan, Arizona and North Carolina. It also explains Red Shift. Republicans have been playing this game for a while now.

Instead of the electors changing their votes (I signed the petition) how about verifying the results were accurate? Sign the petition to audit the election here.

I don't believe Trump won fair and square, I think the election was rigged. Just like Trump SAID it was going to be! Kris Kobach, a "a key member of Trump's transition team", might be rewarded for flipping the election for Donald by being named his AG, btw.

Reuters reports that "the new administration could push ahead rapidly on construction of a U.S.-Mexico border wall without seeking immediate congressional approval" (I don't know how that would work, but that's what the article says).

    ReplyDelete
  15. Winning "fair and square" is not part of the constitution. Getting the most Electoral College votes is. It is up to the democrats to see that it does not happen again. The republicans are fine with the way things are. The democrats did not have a plan to counted the republican actions this time. If they don't next time, we will see the same results. As for now, we are stuck with Trump ad it is the democrats fault.

    1. So cheating is OK by you? Seems to be OK by Dems. Obama won because of turnout. Enough voters got out and voted that (even with the cheating) Obama won. Turnout was down this time and the cheating (along with the Comey meddling) put Trump over the top. And yes, Clinton didn't reach out to blue collar voters. They voted for Trump because they bought his lies. But she would have won if not for the cheating! But Republicans have been cheating (stopping "voter fraud" by bumping legitimate voters off the rolls) for a while now. Guess it's OK and everyone should just accept it.
