When you run after your thoughts, you are like a dog chasing a stick: every time a stick is thrown, you run after it. Instead, be like a lion who, rather than chasing after the stick, turns to face the thrower. One only throws a stick at a lion once. ReplyDelete30 some percent will never understand I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately that's the 30 some percent that apparently has the power to influence the dimwits in power.
My gosh, does anyone else notice the trumpista are basically silent in response to the banner above? Is this because there is no rational position which they can argue?
ReplyDeleteSure looks that way.
Maybe because nobody gives a Shit
ReplyDeleteYou spoke a mouthful there little buddy. The alt-right Trumpanzees don't give a shit about anything if it has to do with ethics or moralty.
DeleteIs it try's like they say on Lisa's blog that YOU actually Liss Shaw's Ass?
ReplyDeleteNo, but we suspect that you might Lisa's.
DeleteBTW, does it give you some perverse pleasure leaving pointless immature comments?
Now run on back to your Mistress Lisa and WYD slime sight.
At least 50 shot dead and 400 wounded by a Domestic terrorist. Suspect is white male in his 60's.
ReplyDeleteTrump makes a brief statement and plans to travel to Las Vegas Wedsnesday of this week.
So far no official acknowledgement that this was an act of domestic terror, we doubt Trump, the GOP, or the criminal NRA will do so. Given the past record of the above hope that they might do the right thing and take positive and appropriate actions is almost non existent.
It is most likely the GOP, Trump, and the NRA will advocate MORE firearms in MORE people's hands as the sure fire way to solve the problem. It has been their desired solution for years. Damn they're dumb. Aren't they?
So we wait and expect things will go back to normal in a few short weeks, and, we wait for the NEXT act of domestic terrorism.
Our heats go out to the fallen and members of their family. Our hopes go out to the wounded for a quick and complete recovery.
We the good people of this nation have the power of the ballot box. Let us not shirk from our responsibility to use it and turn lawmakers out of office at all levels who fail to actively support and enact a reasonable, effective, and uniform national firearms regulatory law.

ReplyDeleteWe must have gun control! That's all we hear every time there is a mass shooting. But we already have gun laws and in many cases, it doesn't seem to make the slightest difference.
ReplyDeleteIf guns were the problem, why did Obama forgive so many criminals who used guns or violated gun laws? If more gun laws are what's needed, why did prosecutions of criminals under existing gun laws drop dramatically under Obama?
Cities like Chicago have the strictest gun control laws in the country yet there are killings every week.
Liberals clamoring for more gun control should be forced to answer these questions before they further limit the Constitutional rights of law
LL, I do not want more gun control. I do want uniform and more effective regulation. I was both a hunter and sportsman when I as younger. In fact I'm old enough to recall when bolt action, lever action, pump action, revolvers, and limited clip semi auto revolvers were the standard.
ReplyDeleteBump stocks and high capacity magazines and drums are not needed. Period.
Further, uniform background checks and waiting periods are not unreasonable. Nor do they present a threat to 2'nd amendment rights.
The NRA and gutless Congress critters will be the ones ultimately responsible for Americans losing the rights you wish to preserve.
BTW, thanks for stopping in and offering an opportunity for rational discussion.
Massachusetts has some of the strictest gun laws and their death by gunshot rate is down 60%. Facts can be found to support either side of the gun debate.
ReplyDeleteNothing is 100% and crime will never disappear. We will always need the police and laws. Government's responsibility is public safety.
The Republicans passed a stand alone bill that gave mentally ill people the right to buy and own guns. These are people who have been found by the State incapable of taking care of themselves (feeding, bathing, dressing, etc..) or of handling their own affairs (paying bills, understanding the law, knowing right from wrong, driving, etc.). The State also took away their right to buy, own, or use guns. That bill gave them those gun rights back.
There can be no common sense gun laws, or any common sense laws when that kind of insanity is the thinking of the majority party that makes the laws.
Indeed there will always be crime and the criminal element in society will ALWAYS be at work finding ways around the law or even ways sabotaging the law.
ReplyDeleteThis nation's lawmakers obviously lack the will to do the work crafting a uniform national firearms regulation that would reduce and effectively minimize these acts of domestic terrorism.
The NRA leadership is a major player in efforts to sabotage any effort at effect and reasonable firearms regulation. The leadership of the NRA is a proud member of the criminal element in society. Please not I said the leadership as the majority of members want action to stop the carnage we saw in Las Vegas and so many times elsewhere.
It can be done without vacating the 2'nd amendment. Something no serious and reasonable liberal is suggesting.

Liberals clamoring for more gun control should be forced to answer these questions before they further limit the Constitutional rights of law abiding Americans.
Did you bother to read the post?
ReplyDeleteIrrespective of whether you did or not what is needed is a UNIFORM, REASONABLE, and consistently enforces NATIONAL firearm law. One that takes us back to the days when bolt action, lever action, pump action, revolvers, and 9 shot clips were what was legal and available to hunters, sportsman, and collectors.
We can and must take responsible action. We can do so without vacating the 2'nd amendment.
The rightwing gun nuts and the leadership of the NRA are wrong and in my opinion criminal. The majority of Americans, including hunters and sportsmen agree.
