Happy Thanksgiving All!...

The First Thanksgiving 1621

  I

Enjoy the holiday, drive safely and defensively if you'll be on the highway traveling to be with family and/or friends.

Hope to be back sooner than later, time will tell. In the meantime keep on keeping on, and I'll see ya on the flip side...

  2. It is thought the Thanksgiving tradition arose among the Puritans as part of the
Restoration and elimination of numerous traditional feast days endemic in the medieval Church. Pragmatic and hard-headed, they went with a few simple religious holidays, thanksgiving among them. One wonders, given their pragmatic
views, what they would think of the shopping melees of 'black Friday' .

I think we know the answer to that one BB-Idaho.

The Misses and I have refused the temptation of this rather dastardly day. Although, once again as last year, we will be entertaining our grandson Thanksgiving evening and on Friday morn while the parets go a shopping for the deal of the day.

  3. Earlier today, my kids told me to go stuff it, so I am off to the kitchen now with 2 boxes of Stove Top.

I am now the center of gravity for my family – the one around whom everyone congregates (and sometimes aggravates) – so tomorrow I will be flinging the bird (sliced turkey) to everyone.

If a very large bird appears at your window on Thanksgiving Day, have no fear. Its probably a peeping tom. Happy Thanksgiving.

  4. Whatever you do to celebrate, Les, I hope i turns out to be huge success.

There will be three posts in honor of Thanksgiving at FreeThinke's blog. One came out this afternoon, two more will appear tomorrow.

We try never to do anything by halves to commemorate major holy days.

    Take care, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
