Ayn Rand, the Tea Party, and John Galt

I am a huge advocate of Ayn Rand's philosophy known as objectivism. Her blockbuster novel, Atlas Shrugged, was almost prophetic in it's prediction of our current statist government and the disaster that is our economy today.

However, until I ran across the following video on You Tube I never gave much thought to the connection with Rand's philosophy and the Tea Party movement. Given the huge growth of the federal bureaucracy under the statists GWB and BHO it makes perfect sense that Rand, were she alive today, would likely be very supportive of the movement.

Perhaps John Galt is working  behind the scenes with Tea Party leaders.

  1. I've always heard of the book, but never read it. I guess it's time to change that.

  2. This and 1984 should be required reading for high school students.

  3. Gorges - A great read! I suggest The Fountainhead as well. If you like these you will keep searching out more.

  4. Trestin - I agree completely! Sadly these books are anti progressive collectivist and therefore only courageous teachers will introduce students to these powerful statements in support of capitalism and liberty.
