Celebrating Political Incorrectness

I enjoyed Bastiatarian's last post so much I thought I'd throw out something in a similar vein from from Victor Davis Hanson.  The following quote is from his article, Ten Random, Politically Incorrect Thoughts:
Something has happened to the generic American male accent. Maybe it is urbanization; perhaps it is now an affectation to sound precise and caring with a patina of intellectual authority; perhaps it is the fashion culture of the metrosexual; maybe it is the influence of the gay community in arts and popular culture. Maybe the ubiquitous new intonation comes from the scarcity of salty old jobs in construction, farming, or fishing. But increasingly to meet a young American male about 25 is to hear a particular nasal stress, a much higher tone than one heard 40 years ago, and, to be frank, to listen to a precious voice often nearly indistinguishable from the female. How indeed could one make Westerns these days, when there simply is not anyone left who sounds like John Wayne, Richard Boone, Robert Duvall, or Gary Cooper much less a Struther Martin, Jack Palance, L.Q. Jones, or Ben Johnson?

VDH also goes after Hollywood and liberals.  Ten Random, Politically Incorrect Thoughts is an entertaining read, well worth five minutes of your time.

  1. Apparently I'm no longer welcome here.

My comment to bastiatarian was not offensive, nor IMO did it stray too far from the topic. I chose to share my take on indigenous religion's influence on Christianity and the resulting feminine icons, I thought it made the case that feminine did not necessarily equate to feminized.

I'd found the post to be intriguing and "if he is religious, he will see women as ideal Christians and identify Christian virtue with feminine characteristics" drew my attention.

The poster had no obligation to reply to my comment, but removal as if I'm some sort of troll is insulting.

Well it's not my blog and it's a free country.

  2. Oso - Forgive my deletion of your comment.

You have always been most respectful and have offered some insightful comments on these pages.

There are however some in your community that are no longer welcome here.

You may feel free to visit and leave comment anytime you would like.

As I said, there are those that you associate with that are no longer welcome as they go beyond political disagreement and have misrepresentated my statements and are now engaging in intimidation tactics against me.

So be it.As long as you are not a part of this you will always be welcome. Those who have been a part are nlt and will never be welcome again.

  3. These last two posts have certainly drawn some, shall we say, strange advertisements.

We may have to jump in with some hard hitting CONSERVATIVE posts. Some second amendment stuff and a few Randain and Founders quotes.

  4. "Political Correctness".

Looking at this through the eyes of a man who cares little for decorum or tact, I can only say this:
Political meaning anything that will get you elected, hence, 'political correctness' is simply the blanket that those who are seeking to maintain a facade layer onto themselves. In other words, 'political correctness' is nothing more than saying something in such a fashion as to endear the witless masses to your side.

Politics. Human theater at its finest.

Les, I enjoyed this link greatly. Since we have, almost as a whole, moved away from "salty old jobs" as noted above, it makes perfect sense that this chasm would be filled with men who want to be more like women.

A frightening trend, perpetrated by our less than authoritative and manly "president".

  5. Les,

You have said that some good hard-hitting CONSERVATIVE posts would be in order. I stumbled across this one recently. Here are links for your perusal.

Apparently there has been a bit of less than sterling behavior going on in Bell, CA, and those accused of it are Democrats. But as the second link attests, no one wants to name the party affiliation.

    Enjoy. I know I did.

  6. Les,
No,excuse me for overreacting man. I appreciate the kind words. I'll continue to drop in from time to time. I'm still down with Ron Paul, and that alone puts us on the same page in many respects ! Take care Les and thanks!

  7. I guess my opinion of manhood leaves me in a rather solitary position. I've always said that as long as a guy has something to prove, he's not a man. When he no longer worries about proving anything to anybody, but simply does what is he knows is right, THEN he's a man. And it doesn't matter if he's a 97 pound weakling or a muscle-bound ox, as long as he's willing to let the chips fall where they may.

  8. Oso - I look forward to your visits.

It is in my mind truly unfortunate that Ron Paul will not have the oppurunity to lead this country with a Congress that shares his principles. Perhaps if that "ideal" could ever be reached we would then be on a path that would rifgt our ship.

    Take care man.
