What's wrong TOM? Deleted your vile comment eh? That's good, anyone paying attention to your daily garbage and lies already knows all about you anyway.
I'm guessing Luke or Luke signed in with one of his TOM accounts did not drop in to wish anyone a Merry Christmas? I think he makes it clear by his behavior that it is the same person. I mean, how unlikely that another "TOM" (all caps) would decide he also had the same grudge against RN and decide to relentlessly troll this blog? I don't get what the point is. Anyway, "Merry Christmas" as well as another full year closer to death for me tomorrow.
On this, the 25th day of December 2016 we wish ALL the best the season has to offer. And so we say Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
Regardless of where one live on this globe we all call home, regardless of our job, religious affiliation, political leanings, sexual orientation, or anything else one may think of we are, or at least ought to be, brothers and sisters in our one common attribute, We're All Humans.
he Dalai Lama reminds us:
When you practice gratefulness, there is a sense of respect toward others.
If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.
When you practice gratefulness, there is a sense of respect toward others.
Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.
Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them.
We can live without religion and meditation, but we cannot survive without human affection.
The important thing is that men should have a purpose in life. It should be something useful, something good.
We hope the incoming president reflects on and understands the simple and profound truths the Dalai Lama expresses in such simplicity.
The Dalai Lama would kinda be the anti Ayn Rand, don't you think? BTW, as per the NY IntelligencerTrump described himself as an Ayn Rand fan. He said of her novel The Fountainhead, "It relates to business (and) beauty (and) life and inner emotions. That book relates to ... everything". He identified with Howard Roark, the novel's idealistic protagonist who designs skyscrapers and rages against the establishment.
Apparently many do not understand the good elements in Rand's philosophy, particularly the concept of rational self interest. That's fine as everyone has their own views and opinions. Hopefully they're based on reading, rational thought, and reflection leading to understanding.
Yeah I quickly read the Trump is the "New King" brouhaha. Simply incredible!
TOM/Steve/Luke, as we noted earlier none of your vile comments, F bombs, or other totally un-Christian blathering will be posted. As they are deleted unread enjoy your mental masturbation.
Merry Christmas Les, Shaw, Dave, Jerry, BB, dmarks, Dervish and all other visitors to this blog of merry heart and good faith! I've been playing so much Christmas music at church, I've just about had it. Just woke up from a sweet nap. The sun is shining bright after the rain. Kids are coming over for Christmas Dinner. Ham, Mac n Cheese, Banana Nut Bread, Hot Chocolate, Goodies all around.
Be of good cheer and have a strong and successful 2017.
Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, and Seasons Greetings from the Leeward Islands. Yesterday, Saint Lucia. Today Barbados. Tomorrow Saint Kitts. An Inkredible getaway.
As you know I'm not a religious guy in the conventional/classical sense. But there is something to be said for the SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS, meaning how Christ the man taught his followers to live and treat others.
On a different note. I read about your medical issue sometime ago on another weblog. I don't know if you ever check your weblogs anymore but I left a comment there.
Our thoughts are with you Jersey and we're sure you'll defeat your adbersary. We are sending good vibes your way.
RN USA no longer accepts comments. The information presented is for reflection, contemplation, and for those seeking greater understanding and wisdom. It is for seekers and those with an open mind and heart.
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Lib e rty -vs- Tyr a nny Today's blog entry is a very special entry. It is special in that it features a relatively new, yet up and coming spokesperson for the progressive minded in blogistan general. There are too few words to describe the potential impact this canine lover could have on the progressive movement. As I said there are too few words to describe this gentleman of the left. So, rather than try I will leave you with just a brief description of his talents. He is very focused on melodrama , fancies himself a sort of Sherlock Holmes , and he has an apparent obsession with misplaced periods. The volume of his thought is voluminous, and his edgy razor sharp analysis is as blunt as a hoe. But nonetheless the herculean efforts he has put forth in developing his following has been impressive. For this he deserves recognition, and from the conservative (not republican) and libertarian thinkers and bloggers a huge thank you. Check ...
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Birthplace of Independent Conservatism This is America. We are an English speaking nation. We have distinct and traditional American cultural values. We have some Americans in our population who have difficulty speaking a coherent sentence. We have many who cannot construct a complete and proper sentence. Yet we find the time and the money to educate youth in Arabic and Arabic culture. Mind you this is a Federal Grant program and limited to only five select school districts. At least for now. At a cost of 1.3 millions dollars students on these select district will be required, you heard {read} right, required as mandatory part of their curriculum to learn Arabic. This is a blatant abuse of taxpayer money, and it is indicative of the future course our nation has embarked upon under the fuzzy, misguided, and incredibly deceitful anti leade...
from: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth No matter how much we argue about the details of its meaning today, in the opinion of many, the Constitution signed in Philadelphia on September 17, 1787 represents the greatest expression of statesmanship and compromise ever written. In just four hand-written pages, the Constitution gives us no less than the owners' manual to the greatest form of government the world has ever known. We have no tribal council, nor can we vote anybody off the island. But, we do live in the land of the free, and as long as the Constitution stands, we always will. Yes, the 2'nd amendment establishes the right of the nation's citizens to keep and bear arms, a right I personally agree with. When handled by responsible sensible individuals who keep there firearms and ammunition secure firearms in theory at least are as safe as knives, hatchets, axes and such. In 1787 the framers of our Constitution recognized the need for a wel...
Rape - The crime of rape generally refers to non-consensual sexual intercourse that is committed by physical force , threat of injury, or other duress. Common law defined rape as unlawful intercourse by a man against a woman who is not his wife by force or threat and against her will. A sexual predator is a person seen as obtaining or trying to obtain sexual contact with another person in a metaphorically predatory or abusive manner. Pedophilia is considered a paraphilia, an "abnormal or unnatural attraction." Pedophilia is defined as the fantasy or act of sexual activity with prepubescent children. Pedophiles are usually men, and can be attracted to either or both sexes. How well they relate to adults of the opposite sex varies. Sexual harassment is bullying or coercion of a sexual nature, or the unwelcome or inappropriate promise of rewards in exchange for sexual favors. In most modern legal contexts, sexual harassment is illegal. As defined by th...
By: Les Carpenter III Rational Nation USA I have maintained my pledge to generally keep the debate of religious theocratic philosophy, with all the sordid details with respect to human suffering that are part of it's history, off the pages of this sight. I can no longer do so. The proposed construction of a Mosque near Ground Zero, and the rush by the progressives to argue in support of its construction, leads me to delve into the issue, and provide a reality check for those in favor of any such construction. Just to set the record straight, because the progressives who read this will otherwise undoubtedly call me a right wing Bible thumping fanatic, I am a believe that religion, or the lack thereof is a deeply personal issue. If there is one issue I agree with the progressives on it likely would be the issue of religion and its place in society. But I digress. The attack on the United States of America on September 11, 2001 was an a...
Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth Maybe the democratic primaries will shape up to be; interesting? It is looking like Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders, the independent from Vermont is getting some legs and with them some name recognition. Hillary Clinton, once the anticipated shoo in to receive the democratic nomination is finally getting some, competition? Bernie Sanders just might be the man to provide a serious challenge to Hillary who certainly has been dealing with her share of troubles stemming from the Clinton Foundation and perceived improprieties. Not to mention her less that brilliant performance as former Secretary of State. It is good for our republic when all parties have a field of candidates with divergent views and all serious candidates are able to have their views heard by the voting public. Who knows, maybe Bernie Sanders will be the 21st centuries George McGovern, the ultra liberal democrat who lost the 1972 presidential election to Richard Nixon...
Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker is soon to announce his candidacy for the republican nomination for president of the United States of America. Make no mistake about his intentions. Hailed as a right to work advocate his agenda in Wisconsin was to break the backs of labor and his agenda if elected president will no doubt be the same. He is no friend of labor or the small businessman or businesswomen. His loyalty lies with the millionaires and billionaires whose only concern is corporate profits and reducing labor costs as a primary vehicle in doing so. Gov. Walker, in his own words is to, " divide and conquer . Divide labor and secure the conquest. As for America and the middle class an their American Dream? Well, too f^cking bad. Beware of this man and think really really hard before considering him for the highest office in our republic. Unless you truly want a new feudalism taking root in America. In Wisconsin, where the labor ...
By: WILL " TAKE NO PRISONERS " HART I quite resent this notion that the American people are somehow a greedy lot, and that they're only concerned about themselves. It certainly doesn't mesh with the world that I see and it doesn't mesh the data, either. According to the Charitable Aid Foundation, the United States is THE most generous country on the planet (65% of its citizens donate money, 43% donate personal time, and 73% help out strangers). And to think that this type of charity would somehow shrink up if in fact the government did decide to cut back a little is both ridiculous AND insulting..............................................................................................I also deeply resent the demonization of wealth and achievement in this society. It was, folks, the industrialists and business visionaries of the United States who truly made it the great place in which literally every frigging immigrant on the planet wan...
Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth Fascism is typically viewed as a leftist political and economic system. This is true if leftist is to mean a strong central government with great influence on and regulation over a nation's economic maters. In other words private ownership of business exists but the government essentially establishes economic policy through over burdensome regulations. Ayn Rand and Dr. Leonard Peikoff shared a different view. Both view conservatives and republicans as drivers of our politics and government in the direction towards fascism. While conservatives and republicans typically may not push for as much regulation over the business sector they too have in the past and continue to so so today. When combined with other traits exhibited by fascism the case can be made conservatives and republicans are more likely to meet the criteria for fascism. Dr. Lawrence Britt posted the 14 Characteristics of fascism based on his study of 4 fascist regimes. B...
Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth We will start today's post with an early fact check of HRC's acceptance speech, just as we did with DJT's acceptance speech last week. It comes as no surprise to those following the campaign statements of the two nominees that HRC's acceptance speech (the issues checked) was more honest than DJT's. HRC, as well as DJT, cherry picked some data to highlight a point. Something all politicians do, and have done since the beginning of our republic. Fact Check Summary: A) Stated Donald Trump said at the Republican convention “I alone can fix it.” -- Mostly True B) Said Donald Trump "claimed our armed forces are 'a disaster.'" - Mostly True C) Clinton also attacked Trump’s campaign slogan "Make America Great Again," by claiming his merchandise was primarily made overseas. -- Mostly True D) Said the Iran nuclear deal effectively closed the door on Iran getting a nuclear weapon. -- Mostly true ...
