When fascism came to America it came clutching a bible and waving the flag. On January 20, 2025.
Israel in the present time is a state engaging in state terrorism against the Palestinian population of Gaza. The Zionist genocide of Palestinians is ungodly, un-Christian, and in every way horrific evil.
For Evangelical Christians, Christian Nationalists and MAGA who apparently know nothing of Jesus of Nazareth's position on wealth: Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
"All worldly pursuits have but one unavoidable and inevitable end, which is sorrow; acquisitions end in dispersion; buildings in destruction; meetings in separation; births in death. Knowing this, one should, from the very first, renounce acquisitions and storing-up, and building, and meeting; and, faithful to the commands of an eminent Guru, set about realizing the Truth. That alone is the best of religious observances. Milarepa
"What you are is what you have been. What you’ll be is what you do now. The Buddha
"Irrigators channel waters; fletchers straighten arrows; carpenters bend wood; the wise master themselves. The Buddha
"An idea that is developed and put into action is more important than an idea that exists only as an idea." The Buddha
As a Buddhist, a practice to end suffering and achieve spiritual enlightenment developed by and Indian Prince turned spiritual guru 2,500 plus year ago, only condemnation of the government of India for its attempted genocide of the Sikh people is the proper ethical response.
Sikhism is a religion of oneness and inclusiveness. For this reason it is the only religion IMO that actually respects the concept of God and divinity.
Tibetan Buddhism and Sihkism hold the answers to the end of suffering and achieving unity among people. Yet it is highly unlikely that humankind, in its ignorance, will ever realize the wisdom and truth that both Buddhism and Sikhism hold and offer the world.
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Lib erty -vs- Tyra nny The April job reports are out. The good news is unemployment fell to a four year low, certainly at year six in Obama's Presidential tenure strikes a positive note. Or does it? At the same time the number of people employed part time rose as well as strong indications are showing the Affordable Care Act (ACA aka ObamaCare) will have a long term negative impact on the USA economy. The following is an interesting analysis and one that certainly has some credibility. AEI - US job growth in April beat economist expectations as nonfarm payrolls rose 165,000, and the jobless rate fell to a four-year low of 7.5%. But the report contained worrisome signs that President Obama’s health care reform law is hurting full-time, high-wage employment. While the American economy added 293,000 jobs last month, according to the separate household survey, the number of persons employed part time for economic reasons — “involuntar...
We are moving this running post up to front page this evening where it will remain until January 3'rd 2017 when we will return to single posts, hopefully on a daily basis. There is much to do in getting the TRUTH out about Donald J Trump, a dishonest, totally self absorbed, and dangerous individual. He may be the president on January 20th but that does not mean thoughtful and concerned people shouldn't challenge Trump at every turn and fight his agenda whenever it runs contrary to their interests and those of their family. More to come. BTW, be sure to read today's entry, 12/28/16, below. this is just one example AND, it is just the beginning. You've probably noticed the brief posts of late. Posts with very short commentary by the weblolg administrator followed by an article that goes into the subject in much greater detail. This has been done purposefully following the rancorous 2016 election, and because its Christmas Time, soon to be a New Year. This posting f...
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth While looking for something of interest, since the daily regular debates are getting rather stale and becoming pointless in my never humble opinion, I stumbled upon The Free Capitalist Network and decided to stay awhile. During my meandering through the site I came across a interesting comment post. The comment was posted in 2011 by EmperorNero . All socialist countries are poor, and all poor countries are, or have until recently been, socialist. All rich countries are capitalist, and all capitalist countries are rich. I would be interested in some counterexamples or arguments against this rule. It seems to hold true as long as we are clear what we mean by " socialism ". Socialism here is defined as government ownership/control of the means of production, and not in the 'European meaning' of capitalism with welfarism, or the 'original meaning' of absence of private property rights. (Emphasis m...
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth The internet is a wonderful place. A world of almost unlimited information and knowledge is available at a mere click of the mouse. If one has a computer, a smart phone, a notebook, or other such equipment access to a a wealth of information and facts are available in seconds. A person only need to take the time to do a bit of searching. Unfortunately the internet has a dark side as well. Individuals with a bit of knowledge and limited computer expertise can set up a site, or multiple sites and generate a lot of misinformation, total fabrications, outright lies, engage in defamation of someones character, and do it anonymously. In fact in the world of blogging it is fast becoming commonplace for unethical bloggers to set up a site, steal the avatar of another blogger, slightly change the original bloggers site names, and then go after the blogger whose positions they don't agree with. The unethical blogger's ( im...
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Purveyor of Truth It is one thing to advocate for an estate tax to keep the nation from eventually (possibly) being heavily influenced by inherited wealth as the Clinton's have done. Apparently it is quite another to actually pay them, at least for Bill and Hillary. They are taking full advantage of financial strategies that benefit the top 1 percent of the nation. You know, those individuals that liberals love to hate. Well, when it seems politically expedient to do so. Don't get me wrong, personally the death tax rubs me the wrong. But really, wouldn't it make sense for those advocating hefty estate taxes to at least opt out of the very benefits you have politically and publicly been against? I mean if you're wanting to be a leader shouldn't you set an example? Somehow do as I say, not as I do just doesn't cut it. Or at least it shouldn't. Bloomberg - Bill and Hillary Clinton have long supported an estate t...
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Birthplace of Independent Conservatism Sen. Scott Brown has announced his intention to support Paul Ryan's budget plan . This comes as a surprise as Sen. Brown is a moderate to liberal republican from Massachusetts, one of the nations most liberal states. I'm content to chalk it up to the Senator finally coming to his senses. On to the real point of today's post. Rep. Paul Ryan, Chairman of the House Budget Committee delivered a speech to the Economic Club of Chicago highlighting the very real {and serious} fiscal issues facing America today. In a most compelling way Ryan drew the contrast between the progressives {democratic party} vision of shared scarcity and the vision of renewed prosperity shared by the more fiscally responsible conservatives. Rep. Ryan's speech for the most part will be overlooked by the liberal government/media complex. His speech will be greatly maligned by the progressive/collectivist sites that p...
Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth Fact check on Trump's press conference 1/11/17. Excerpts from The Washington Post . President-elect Donald Trump finally held a news conference, but as is typical, he often made claims that have been repeatedly debunked or discredited. Here’s a guide to 14 of his more notable statements, in the order in which he made them. “It’s very familiar territory, news conferences, because we used to give them on an almost daily basis.” Exaggeration. While on TV constantly he generally held news conferences only following primary contests. “You saw yesterday Fiat Chrysler; big, big factory going to be built in this country as opposed to another country. Ford just announced that they stopped plans for a billion-dollar plant in Mexico and they’re going to be moving into Michigan and expanding, very substantially, an existing plant.” False. “When we lost 22 million names and everything else that was hacked recently, they didn’t make a big dea...
As the new year gets off to its running start some things to consider. Please feel free to comment on any or all of the linked articles. Keep comments on topic, relevant, respectful, and free of vulgarity. Failure to do so will be responded to with immediate deletion when detected. In response to protests in Iran, President Trump is calling for regime change: Yup, we know from experience how well that one worked out. Former Joint Chiefs chairman: Nuclear war with North Korea closer than ever Probably what tRump's regime change will require. Trump says U.S. has gotten 'nothing' from Pakistan aid Anyone else see a trend developing here? This new year, tell Trump: Enough We should certainly give it our best shot. But, won't it kind of be like talking to a wall and expecting it to answer you?
The 550 People, Places and Things Donald Trump Has Insulted on Twitter: A Complete List It is highly unlikely the tRump supporters will even read, let alone believe, the truth embodied in the voluminous number of insulting and incorrect tweets their buffoon leader has tweeted out. by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Birthplace of Independent Conservatism Liberty -v s- Tyranny For the purpose of clarification with respect to Ayn Rand's view of conservatives... and why I find it so utterly amusing that most conservatives fail to recognize that there is little relationship, if any between her views and theirs. In her on words... “Conservatives” Objectivists are not “conservatives.” We are radicals for capitalism; we are fighting for that philosophical base which capitalism did not have and without which it was doomed to perish . . . Politics is based on three other philosophical disciplines: metaphysics, epistemology and ethics—on a theory of man’s nature and of man’s relationship to existence. It is only on such a base that one can formulate a consistent political theory and achieve it in practice. When, however, men attempt to rush into politics without such a base, the result is that embarrassing conglomeration of impotence, futility, inconsist...
