Religions Are ROTTING ILLUSIONS...
All worldly pursuits have but one unavoidable and inevitable end, which is sorrow; acquisitions end in dispersion; buildings in destruction; meetings in separation; births in death. Knowing this, one should, from the very first, renounce acquisitions and storing-up, and building, and meeting; and, faithful to the commands of an eminent Guru, set about realizing the Truth. That alone is the best of religious observances. Milarepa

Grief can be the garden of compassion. If you keep your heart open through everything, your pain can become your greatest ally in your life's search for love and wisdom. Rumi
Because of lack of moral principle, human life becomes worthless. Moral principle, truthfulness, is a key factor. If we lose that, then there is no future. Dalai Lama
Buddhism is one spiritual tradition (I do not consider it a religion) that does NOT attempt to fool anyone. For the Buddha encouraged people to NOT believe something just because someone says it is so. Even what he said. Rather Buddhism says to place your trust in your own experiential knowledge gained from deep meditation and contemplation. Through consciousness and awareness one ultimately can realize reality as it really is. Not the reality clouded over by obscurations and delusions, the result of years of societal conditionings, reified beliefs, memory, and so forth.
Religion on the other hand is but a system of beliefs ad dogma designed to control the beliefs and actions of others based on the beliefs and desires of an institution, the Church. The following video explodes the myths of religion, particularly Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
