Bannon Tells Press To Shut Up...

Americans should be concerned. Very concerned. Stephen Bannon, chief strategist for Donald Trump has just told the press to shut up. That they are the opposition party. It falls in line with the Trump administration’s narrative that the news media disseminates “fake news”, essentially saying that Trump and his administration have the “real news”.
Trump (we refuse to refer to him as president in our commentary) has a plan, a plan to turn documented truth into lies by a constant onslaught on the legitimacy and integrity of the press. As the press is, and always has been, the watchdog our democracy (democratic republic). One of our republic’s strength has always been the free and independent press. And now we have an administration that is openly showing us its hand. It wants the media to shut up or report events as Trump and his administration wants them reported. Using the administration’s alternative facts.

  1. "The people are the only censors of their governors: and even their errors will tend to keep these to the true principles of their institution. To punish these errors too severely would be to suppress the only safeguard of the public liberty. The way to prevent these irregular interpositions of the people is to give them full information of their affairs thro’ the channel of the public papers, & to contrive that those papers should penetrate the whole mass of the people. The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter. But I should mean that every man should receive those papers & be capable of reading them." -- Thomas Jefferson

Bannon obviously knows nothing about Jefferson or American democracy. He and the deranged Russian puppet are on a collision course with our republic.

    1. Narcissistic dmagogues like trump, and anarchists like bannon prefer their subjects uneducated, uninformed, and gullible. It is much easier to market their alternative facts to folks who aren't the least bit inquisitive.

trump is an authoritarian and one who believes himself to be infallible. A dangerous combination to say the very least.

  2. IMO, the press "shut up" far too much during the campaign, treating Trump as humanely as they would a conventional candidate. Now, the press is the only thing between him and personal empire. In following the search engine literature, we note that 'Trump fascist' is now up to
11,8000,000 articles. Presumably the slimy Bannon is acting as the
Dr. Goebbels of the new fairly clueless, but arrogant administration.
The interesting times we live in are becoming sordid.

    1. Still on the subject of search engine data, we note that 'trump
crazy with power' has moved up to 21,000,000 sites. Perhaps you can fool all of the people all of the time; we suspect the spirits of Lincoln, Orwell and Kafka are together at coffee cheering all of the people who cannot be fooled. Ever

  3. Come on now folks As much as I'd like the outcome of the election to be different, it is done with, and it's old news now. Us good guys lost. We lost because the constant drumbeat of negativity left 5 million people at home instead of at the polls. And the bottom line is that we ran a bad candidate. Let's not start the shouts of illegitimacy or anarchy. We have a process and it was completed.
We have to start thinking about how to motivate the disaffected non voters from this election. We have to figure out how to get Democrats/liberals/progressives motivated for the mid terms. We have to find the next group of candidates for president. We have to make sure that we are doing all we can to get our issues heard.
I know you're upset. We all are. But let's remember that we still have a fight on our hands. Regardless of who the president is, we have to make sure that the issues we believe in are being addressed. We have work to do. Just not this. We can only look forward now.
I send you all the love I can. I wish I were there to give you hug. We'll get through this. We just have to focus on the future. I'll end with this line from MLK that always resonates with me: The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice. Keep the faith, darlin'.

Regardless, I think Trump-hole-thin-skin might object to either of those.

  5. The "Sue" post here was copied and pasted from my friend who runs the blog "Hello...Mr. President Are You Listening." That comment was not written by my friend Sue, it was written by a commenter on her blog from Nov. 10, 2016. The "Sue" who posted is most likely one of WYD's idiot trolls. The "Sue" here is probably a sicko like TOM/Luke/Steve. The asylum let them out for their daily trolling.

    1. Thanks, Shaw. I wondered. I tried to click on Sue's link and it was broken, so it looked suspicious.

This reminds me of when I first found out what TOM was all about, when suddenly he seemed to go from posting in his blog about astronomy to talking endlessly and in a hateful fashion about Sue's ladyparts. Stuff that was way way out of line. And stuff that makes the famous "Grabbing" statement by TOM's hero Trump to be a gentlemen's statement in comparison.

  7. The liberal haters are still at it. Trump is Hitler! Trump is Hitler! Trump is Hitler! That all you people know how to do is to name call, and Shaw is the worst of all, That's how she operates, by calling other names and by lying.
Their lack of history is astounding. Their passion for hate is unbounded. It's funny how the most hateful of all are the same that attack this blog and stole my posts. RN, Dervish, Dog, Shaw, and and the rest of their hate filled crowd.
No discussion by them of what strategies might be used to stop Trumps decisions and legislation, or what their priorities are as to where to even start. They are having to much fun screaming hate to actually do anything about the Hitler they fear so badly.
I'm not going to spend the next four years simply screaming Trump is Hitler, nor am I going to even listen to their hate. I'm sure these idiot liberals will vote for Trump's disasters, just as they voted for Bush's lies, wars, and killing innocent people. All it will take is another attack against America and they will all line up to support whatever illegal, unconstitutional act of violence and killing Trumps wants to do. And I can just hear another round of calling people traitors for not supporting whatever violence Trump wants to inflict on innocent people. They will be duped just as the German people were in the 1930's.
Good luck to the haters. They will just tear this country further apart and make worse what they claim they don't want. They had plenty of practice calling Bush Hitler as they went along with his killing. Acting against their own self interest seems to be an American behavior now made an American tradition.

    1. These are simply your opinions.

You offer nothing of substance, nothing constructive, are as guilty if not more so of the things you accuse others of, are less educated in history than those you refer to, and it is YOU and your other personality TOM that is the hater.

You are a troll Luke and you are not welcome here. So, don't let the door hit ya in the a*s when you leave. And don't come back.

  8. LUKE/TOM/STEVE: "Their lack of history is astounding."

But Luke, my dear boy, you are wrong, all of us here have a lot of history. BTW, you seem so agitated. Are you okay? Have you tried Milk of Magnesia? That may help relieve some of your suffering.
