Once again Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is flexing his Tea Party credentials and limp shoulder, chest, and leg muscles declaring “Under no circumstances will I agree to the Senate’s raising the debt ceiling with just 50 votes. We hear ya Mr. Ted (Green Eggs and Ham) Cruz and as expected we will chuckle along with ya at the ridiculous charade you obviously love to perpetuate and engage in. I say go for it dude as America laughs at your expense.
Without further ado here then are the goodies.
Help me get this apparently confusing thing thing straight. United States House of Representatives (the voice of the PEOPLE) vote for raising the debt ceiling and Mr. Statist Senator Bureaucratic Muscleman Ted Cruz and Joesph McCarthy look-a-like is hell bent for election to stand in the way of The Will Of The People.

POLITICO - ed Cruz will demand that the Senate come up with 60 votes to raise the debt ceiling, but indicated he won’t delay the vote as D.C. awaits a snowstorm.
The GOP freshman senator from Texas told reporters Tuesday afternoon that he will not allow a clean bill to lift the debt ceiling through the Senate with a bare majority.
“Under no circumstances will I agree to the Senate’s raising the debt ceiling with just 50 votes. I intend to object and force a 60-vote threshold,” Cruz said.
Given that the entire 55-member Democratic caucus is expected to support the clean debt ceiling bill, that means five Republicans would need to join with Democrats to advance the bill to passage. Centrist-minded Republicans like Sens. Mark Kirk of Illinois, Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire and Susan Collins of Maine all said they were undecided on how they will vote.
Cruz said his 60-vote threshold demand shouldn’t irk his Republican colleagues who may feel obligated to swallow a tough vote to vote in favor of a clean debt ceiling lift. Cruz said the GOP should simply hold together and block the legislation that cleared the House on Tuesday afternoon.

Cruz is really an sob.

Perhaps jmj, but my issue with Cruz is that he is NOT IMNHO a true fiscal conservative and he is, again IMNHO a typical SoCon and borderline facist.
DeleteHe wants to cut spending and believes in "small government"... so why isn't he one of RN's heroes? You do believe in those things, do you not RN?
ReplyDeleteLes has always been against playing games with the good faith and credit of the nation, from what I recall.

Derv (the Swerve) Sanders... Take your BS comments and ridiculous assumptions to your own site. I will no longer suffer your idiocy or BS.

ReplyDeleteBy the way jmj, thank you for your honesty. We may not often agree on issues but I have grown to respect you and your comment here had justified my respect for you.
DeleteYou are of course correct jmj. Unlike some there is obviously nothing wrong with YOUR memory. Curtailing spending and support for a smaller federal government does not mean refusing to meet our current or past debt payment obligations.
ReplyDeleteThank you for pointing out to the more dim minded what should be obvious if they elected to read rather than just attempting to be argumentative.
Dervish and Cruz do have a couple things in common. They're both provocateurs and impudent.

Deletedmarks, I let this comment slip by quite by accident. However, In the future REFRAIN from commenting like this. They will not be accepted and should one slip by in the future they will be deleted.
DeleteBeating dead horses, regardless of the horse, is still beating a dead horse. I'm sure you understand.. Right?
Its deleted, and yes it went to far.
DeleteWill, you are correct. Cruz and Derv (the Swerve) Sanders are both impudent and provocateurs. Perhaps the only question remaining is which one is the most egregious.
DeleteI have my opinion and I'm sure you have yours.
Oh hell, throw impotent in there, too.

Hmmmm. How do you know this, Will? Is there something you need to share with us?
Cruz is, in my opinion Shaw is indeed politically impotent. I suspect that is what Will meant as well.
DeleteWell played, Shaw, and, no.
DeleteNOTE TO DERVISH SANDERS:
ReplyDeleteThis site has a full mailbox of unpublished comments by you. They have remained unpublished because they're either 1) Intentionally inflammatory, 2) Meant to incite a "crap fest" or "food fight" that you have encouraged and engage in at your own site, 3) Serve no purpose other than either 1 or 2, 4) Are off topic,.
Either clean up your comments or take the BS to your own blog.
The Management
Dervish doesn't just disagree with Republicans, conservatives, moderates, and libertarians. He despises them and ascribes to them the most vile of motives, actions, etc (they're racists, traitors, war criminals, haters of the poor, etc., etc.). It's a shame that there are people like that out there but there obviously are and their existence goes a long way toward explaining just how divided that we've become.
DeleteVery true Will, as unfortunate as this is there are many like him. They are by no means limited to progressives or liberals. Consevatives and libertarians have their share as well.
ReplyDeleteJust check out Libertarian Republican as one example. There are many others.
Not true, for the record. Although it fits the narrative that some subscribe to, so RN likely won't publish my objection to Will's biased characterization.
DeleteRN: a tip of the hat (or an aim of the boot toe) to the worst of the worst: radical redneck and/or the psycho who has made multiple hate-Shaw blogs. All of the above might just be from one guy. Lowest of the low.
ReplyDeleteLes, is it Eric Dondero that you don't like or is it the guy named Chuck? I'm not sure which is which over there.
ReplyDeleteEric used to be a Rob Paul staffer, drove him around or something. Eric is a bit strange but not really w bag guy. Chuck on the other hand is a fascist asshole thru and thru. There are a few other a-holes over there ad well.
ReplyDeleteKN@PPSTER is another genuinely good guy regular over there.
Yeah, I thought that Eric sounded pretty solid while Chuck was clearly more of the rabble rouser. I just got confused in that I thought that Eric was the "Libertarian Republican" and that it was his blog.
