The Attorney General Remarks to the NAACP... Meant to Telegraph the Next Chapter? Get link Facebook X Pinterest Email Other Apps July 18, 2013 by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny The Attorney General telegraphing what the ultimate decision by the Justice Department is to be? Thinly veiled code words for racism throughout the "esteemed" Attorney General's remarks. The Text - The death of 17-year-old African-American Trayvon Martin, and the subsequent trial of the man who shot him, George Zimmerman, brought back some sore memories for the U.S. attorney general. "They brought me back to a number of experiences I had as a young man," Attorney General Eric Holder told the NAACP at their annual convention in Orlando Tuesday. "When I was pulled over twice and my car searched on the New Jersey Turnpike when I'm sure I wasn't speeding, or when I was stopped by a police officer while simply running to a catch a movie, at night in Georgetown, in Washington, D.C." The shooting, meanwhile, inspired personal comments from President Obama as well. "You know, if I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon," the president said last year. {Read More} UPDATE: via WESH SANFORD, Fla. —A hold was placed Thursday on all evidence related to the death of Trayvon Martin. It's another indication that federal investigators are not done with the George Zimmerman case, despite a jury's not guilty verdict. Department of Justice investigators are looking into whether Zimmerman violated Martin's civil right. Martin was shot to death in the Sanford townhouse complex where his father lived. Zimmerman, a volunteer neighborhood watchman, said the shooting was self defense. A jury found Zimmerman not guilty of second-degree murder. Among the evidence is Zimmerman's handgun. Defense attorney Mark O'Mara said he thinks it would be best for the gun to be destroyed. All of the evidence is now being held by the Sanford Police Department. O'Mara said the investigation has been ongoing and that no evidence Zimmerman of racial bias has been found. Meanwhile, O'Mara said he is mulling his own federal case against prosecutors. He said they withheld information that was important to the trial. Video can be found here. Race Baiting at the Highest Level of the Federal Government...? July 19, 2013 by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Lib e rty -vs- Tyr a nny I listened to the full Presidential news conference this afternoon. Obama said some things that made sense. Then he made the following remarks that IMNHO told the nation in full agenda with respect to said issue. Having a in depth discussion of race relations might very well be appropriate and a general discussion is something that MOST American's would welcome. Using the Zimmerman verdict ks simply the WRONG event at possibly the right time. However, don't expect the President, the Department of Justice, or the liberal media or ultra liberal populace to understand what this means. If I can find a video of the full and complete news conference it will be posted later. Via: Memeorandum Update : via You Tube. Your views and thoughts are most welcome. Left and or Right leaning... Political Quotes To Ponder... February 19, 2014 by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth Tired of the daily political bull**it? I don't know about you but I sure as he*l am. With the growing partisanship kn America and the resulting rancor between the wings of both g-damn major political parties perhaps you'll enjoy the following. On second thought, maybe not. Here goes anyway... The most perfect political community is one in which the middle class is in control, and outnumbers both of the other classes. Aristotle The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; the second is war. Both bring a temporary prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunists. Remembering Trump's Dishonesty, Self Aggrandizement, and Personal Gain Following 911... September 12, 2018 We've known for quite some time now that tRump, being the narcissist that he is, makes everything about himself. Even 911. Following are recorded factual examples of tRump using the terrorist attack on America on September 11, 2001 for self aggrandizement, personal gain, and to stir hatred for Muslims. Excerpts from the The Washington Post : Even as the smoke was literally still rising from the World Trade Center, he saw a terrorist attack against America as an opportunity for self-aggrandizement and self-promotion. He eventually turned it into a weapon of political hate, but in the immediate aftermath, Trump saw it as an opportunity for brand enhancement and wasted no time. Trump bragged that the destruction of the Twin Towers made his building the tallest in Lower Manhattan. Forty Wall Street actually was the second-tallest building in downtown Manhattan, and it was, actually, before the World Trade Center, was the tallest. And then when they built the World Trade Center... Read more

Can the Left and the Right Engage In Meaningful Dialogue? May 05, 2012 by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny On one of my prior posts a commenter expressed wonder at why I attempt to engage with liberals and endure their insults. This particular visitor also made generalized statements about liberals that were mostly hyperbole and in this bloggers opinion part of the problem. The same problem the left is often guilty of. The visitors complete comment. First of all I believe that the post above me was written by a nut. But the title of his or her post is interesting. Interesting enough for me to elaborate on. (Editor’s note: The visitors opening, “ First of all the post above me” is in reference to a liberals comment that was lacking in any salient points and was essentially a ramble of incoherent gibberish.) The liberals for some reason other live in la-la land and have some utopian dream. Yes the Blame Bush game that is played by the progressive blogs we read is nothing less than disgusting, and hateful. They *hate* ... Read more
