I have recently become quite interested in the influence french philosopher Montesquieu had on the thinking of our founding fathers. While researching for a short time last night I came across some quotes attributed to him that remain quite relevant today. Especially in this, the age of growing religious intolerance.

Given the possibility that His Frothiness {Santorum} is, and will continue to gain ground among the "socon" republican ranks in his quest to fulfill "Gods Will" to become the next president of the US I thought it helpful to pass on the following for those who already are, or may be considering supporting him.

Santorum, like so many other religious "socons" pose perhaps the greatest threat to individual liberties than anything currently on our radar scope.

Charles Montesquieu - I can assure you that no kingdom has ever had as many civil wars as the kingdom of Christ.

Do you think that God will punish them for not practicing a religion which he did not reveal to them?

Religious wars are not caused by the fact that there is more than one religion, but by the spirit of intolerance...the spread of which can only be regarded as the total eclipse of human reason.

He has assured FOX News that they will be covering it in "a very big fashion." He anticipates it will be released Wednesday. Presumably (IMNHO) to allow time for spin activity following tonight's debate. Right...
