Suffering Michele Backmann's Absurdities

Joe Scarborough's remarks with respect to Michelle Bachmann's utterly ridiculous statements during Thursday evening republican debate are spot on.

Mediaite - The morning after a big political event is always a good day for morning news programs such as MSNBC’s Morning Joe...

What sets Morning Joe apart from its competition is the unpredictable, and sometimes brutally candid, assessments that often surprise.

ake for example the following rant by host Joe Scarborough, who was without relent in completely dismissing the candidacy of Michele Bachmann, and the political import of Iowa as well.

The nut of the comment is sure to be talked about for some time:

Michele Bachmann’s first answer, Mark Halperin, was, I wish the federal government had defaulted…had defaulted a week after Americans lost, some of them, perhaps, lost half of their pensions. Lost half of their 401(k)s with trillions of dollars that went down the drain with Americans suffering, she said that and got applause. And if anybody thinks that guys like my dad are going to be voting that way when this rolls out of Iowa and New Hampshire and South Carolina in the early stages and really gets going, they are out of their mind, and they are too stupid not only to prognosticate, too stupid to run Slurpee machines in Des Moines.

I got it all off my chest. Michele Bachmann, she is a joke. And now I will pass it on to you. Her answer is a joke. Her candidacy is a joke, and anybody that sits here and says, she has any chance of winning anything is out of their mind. Take your straw poll, take your caucus, but Iowa, if you let her win, you prove your irrelevance once again.

This woman gives even the most forgiving of individuals cause to shudder. Her Thursday performance should, without question, sink Michelle's quest for the republican nomination.

In the attempt to be "nice" lets just say the elevator likely never reaches the top floor.

One can only imagine her as President of the United States... the nation that spawned the greatest governmental system humankind has ever experienced... dealing with much brighter, and shrewder world leaders. She would be not just a minnow out of water, but trying to swim in a sea of piranhas.

  1. Bachmann is unlikely to get much farther than she is now. The Iowa straw poll will keep some money trickling in, but the big cash will go to Perry (and maybe to Romney) from this point on. As much as I'm no fan, I thought that Gingrich showed well in Iowa.

Bachmann just doesn't get it. She's conservative, and while her heart is in the right place, she needs more experience running something. She doesn't have the experience that even Palin brings to the table. And Sarah, God bless her, doesn't pack the gear either.

    Perry-Rubio?
    Perry-Ryan?

I don't see Palin or Bachmann in the #2 slot this time around.

  2. LL - I an not only not a Bachmann fan I have problems with Perry and Palin. Although not as great.

Right now I must say I am a Paul advocate with Johnson not far behind.

Of course guys like Paul and Johnson are iced by the party power boys and neither has a snowball in hell chance of going far.

Cain is another I am watching. Closely.ot comfortable yet but time will tell. He may make a great veep candidate in preparation for the future

  3. Paul will never be the nominee. To Anti-War for the establishment GOP,Romney will win the nomination and be pressured to pick a Te PArty sop like Bachmann or Perry.
