While the Affordable Care Act remains broadly unpopular, two new polls show a majority of Americans don’t want to do away with its subsidies, a core component of the law. This poses a conundrum for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio). Bernie Sanders just might be the man to provide a serious challenge to Hillary who certainly has been dealing with her share of troubles stemming from the Clinton Foundation and perceived improprieties. Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth Recent polling indicates liberals are gaining ground with the American public (electorate) and conservatives are losing ground by a greater margin. It is likely that conservatives will fail to ask the question why this is happening and it is even more likely they will fail to search for honest answers to that question. Conservatives (republicans), unable to face a changing world and the realities that accompany change, will simply bury their has deeper in the sand and double down on old worn out clichés that never worked in the first place. Putting the foregoing aside for a moment; the biggest problem conservatives/republicans must overcome is their hypocrisy with respect to spending and balanced budgets. While the conservative/republican/evangelical base is out of step with the American people on most social issues the conservative/republican fiscal myths have finally caught up to them. Apparently the accomplished Justice believe humans have been on this earth for some 5,000 years. I think we know what his views on evolution and science are. There has been no pause in climate change, aka global warming. The importance of the global-warming pause, conservatives explained, was that we needed to get the science right. “One lesson of the IPCC report is that now is the time for policy caution. Let's see if the nonwarming trend continues, in which case the climate models will need remodeling,” explained the Journal’s editors . But fortunately we now have an answer. A new paper released today by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration finds that the apparent slowdown in warming was an artifact of mis-measurement. Rational Nation U S A Purveyor of Truth Since Bruce Jenner's transformation into Caitlyn Jenner she has been in the news or talk shows daily. Like many folks i'm sure, I am, and have been totally indifferent to the chatter over her transformation. I admit to not understanding her decision, How could or would I? There is no desire in fact to understand her decision, it does not affect me or my loved ones in any way whatsoever. Neither does it affect broader society in any appreciable way whatsoever, unless you choose to let it. What is important in my view is to simply accept that Caitlyn made the decision that was right for her , for me that is the end of the story. Apparently there are some who feel differently. Those who believe Caitlyn for some reason should not be accepted for who she is. Maybe it is because of loyalty to biblical verse, or perhaps out of fear that society will be forever changed.
