The teachings of the Buddha, given in the Dharna talk by Jack Kornfield in the video are ethical considerations that most would probably find only natural and proper in a compassionate and loving society.

We Americans are facing the choice as to who to vote for for president as well as congress this coming November.

Please consider wisely the ethical ramifications of your choices before casting your vote. The differences between candidates, party, and vision are starker than they have ever been.

Character and ethical behavior matter. Keep that in mind as you mark the ballot with your choices.

Obama's lead is within the margin of error. Understanding polls are at best statistical indicators of public sentiment, and they can be manipulated through the process of weighting, I do not place an abundance of faith in polls. It certainly doesn't mesh with the world that I see and it doesn't mesh the data, either. According to the Charitable Aid Foundation, the United States is THE most generous country on the planet (65% of its citizens donate money, 43% donate personal time, and 73% help out strangers).
