One Looney Tune After Another...

 RIGHT WING WATCH - Thursday night’s episode of the “America Stands: Flashpoint” program airing on televangelist Kenneth Copeland’s Victory Channel network featured an interview with Glenn Beck in which Beck revealed that he had a frightening prophetic dream in which he was shown that the 2020 election is a spiritual battle against “Satan himself.”

Beck​, who owns the right-wing web-based network called The Blaze, claimed that he had a prophetic dream several years ago “that was so terrifying” that he refused to tell anyone about it. A while later, he had the same vision again when an unnamed religious leader called Beck out of the blue and asked to meet with him.

Beck said he got on a plane and went to see this person, who sat him down and told him, “Sometimes the Lord speaks to us in dreams. … And you know exactly what I’m talking about.”

After promising not to dismiss this prophetic dream he had supposedly received, Beck then returned home where he said he eventually realized its terrifying significance.

“All of a sudden it took on a completely new meaning,” Beck said. “I just warn you that we are in a spiritual battle against evil unleashed. We are not fighting the Democrats; we are fighting Satan himself.”

Independent Conservatism

I have, for many years, considered myself to be an independent conservative . Asked by some just what that means I would reply it implies I believe in the radical political views held by the founding fathers. Men of enlightened thinking who personified  "The Age of Reason." There have been many occasions I have been brought to task for pointing to the wisdom of  such giants as Washington, Jefferson, Paine, Franklin... the list could go on but for a lack of time. The heart of  the argument used is these are ghosts from the grave and thus bear no relevancy to the present. Nothing could be further from the truth. We have some Americans in our population who have difficulty speaking a coherent sentence. We have many who cannot construct a complete and proper sentence. Yet we find the time and the money to educate youth in Arabic and Arabic culture. Mind you this is a Federal Grant program and limited to only five select school districts. At least for now. Historic Decision Reversing Campaign Laws

The Supreme Court, in a five to four decision, on  this Thursday overturned a six decade old law designed to limit the influence of large corporations and unions on elections. The new ruling will allow for unlimited spending by both large business and unions in support of, or opposition to candidates for Congress and the presidency. The six decade old law essentially prohibited labor unions and companies from using monies from their general treasuries for the purpose of producing and running campaign ads. The reversal however leaves intact the prohibition on direct contributions from businesses and unions. The decision of the court also overturned the McCain/Feingold campaign finance bill which prohibited corporate and union funded issue ads in the final days of a campaign.
