by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny The race is close, very close, with the momentum shifting to Romney. However, my take is the shift, as significant as it has been, came too late and too little. Progressives no doubt are biting their nails because as much as they prefer not to acknowledge it, this one is a real cliff hanger. Reminiscent of 2000. It is true if Obama loses this one progressives throughout the land will be wailing and gnashing their teeth. For them it will be a great undoing of their greatest hopes and dreams. Of course the other fifty percent of America will view it quite differently. So, as the polls close tomorrow, and the tabulating of the vote goes late into the night, we can be sure of a few thing... The nation will remain polarized, the puppet masters behind the curtains will continue calling the shots, the debt and deficits will continue, no mater who wins. And America will continue to ask why. Tomorrow, as I visit my polli
RN... these guys are the fringe no doubt, but I think they only make up a percentage of the actual Trump voters. I had a conversation with a guy recently who's pretty smart, runs his own business. He said to me, Dave, my business is good. I'm finally making real money. I don't rust the Dems, or Biden to keep that going.
ReplyDeleteSo he's supporting Trump, with all his nastiness because his pocketbook is good. If you're in the market, this is the greatest time ever. At the end of the day, people will have a choice. Pocketbook or decency.
I bet they go for the money.
Yeah, you are likely right Dave. Few folks remember or care that things were good in 1928. Then came the CRASH. It can and it will happen again if the current crowd is kept in power. purely selfish short term thinking usually never ends well.
DeleteGuys like the dude you are referring to I must say, personally, I have little respect for folks that jettison decency, honesty, respect for others, integrity, concern for the planet and life on it, and justice simply out of greed. The I got mine so screw you just does not settle with me.
I ain't rich but I've had a good and rewarding life and at 68 I still work 18 hours a week, spend 8 hours in the gym each week, enjoy my wonderful and beautiful better half as well as the grown kids and grandkids. I recall my band conductor telling me in 10th grade, and I quote, Les, always place your sites higher than the dollar. Good advice then and it remains good advice today. Life is good and I don't mind paying my taxes.
Les... what do you make of US silence when we now know Russia has poisoned one of their biggest critics? We both grew up during the Cold War, Detente and the fall of the USSR. Never in my life would I have imagined a time when a US President would have remained publicly silent against a country paying bounties for dead US bodies and outward poisoning of critics fighting for democracy.
ReplyDeleteThis "president" of the USA is every bit as alien to me as say Kim Jong Un, Vlad Putin or any other brutal authoritarian dictator. After almost 4 years America no longer stands for the values that shut down Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, or the Soviet Union. Under Dotard we are in fact becoming more like those countries. Trump has indeed changed America. Given another 4 years we might even begin to look like the shithole countries trump was referring to in one of his xenophobic rants.
DeleteYou both are Disgusting, and Disgraceful Americans PERIOD!
ReplyDeleteEven an A'hoke like you is entitled to his opinions.
DeleteBoth of you Commies are lousy stinkin' LIARS and TREASONOUS bastards and Sons of bitches , and ought to be put Against a wall and SHOT
ReplyDeleteSpoken just like the ignorant demented trumper that you are. Come on over and try a-hole.
DeleteAnon... where have I lied? Where have I advocated treason? If it is for opinions that are critical of President Trump, would it be reasonable to think that opinions critical of President Obama were just as treasonous?
ReplyDeleteAt the end of the day, at least we identify ourselves instead of hiding behind an anonymous moniker. That's a coward's way to comment.
ReplyDeleteDear Lester;
I still hope that one day you will at least TRY to grow up. For a man in his mid-sixties it's unseemly for you still to be acting like a wayward eighth-grade Ass Hole
DUMP THE TURD NOVEMBER 3'RD!!
DeleteAnonymous... do you think people who choose to remain anonymous and obscure their identity, are truthful? Should we believe people who refuse to go public with their names?
ReplyDeleteAsking for a friend...
