Twelve more news outlets including the AP, Bloomberg, First Look Media, Gannett, National Press Club, NBC News, New York Times, POLITICO, Press Freedom Defense Fund, EW Scripps, USA Today Network, Washington Post have announced their plans to follow FOX News lead and file amicus briefs in support of CNN.

Given FOX News consistent support of tRump vitriol and policies their statement and action is, to say the least, quite surprising.

    In fairness RN, the real news division at FOX has been working lately to be a better/more honest balance to the opinion/Trump campaign division of the network.

    If Trump gets away with this, I think FOX's thinking goes, what's to stop a Democratic president from abusing the First Amendment as well. That's not to say that's not a good reason to join CNN in defending the First Amendment, but it does show that there is common ground people of good will can agree on and who believe in the rule of law. It is gratifying to see the news media come together to protect an American value.

    The appointment of Whitaker as acting A.G. and his treatment of Jim Acosta show how little regard Trump has for the rule of law.

That is to say they have a purpose and an agenda which the supporters of the cause believe will make their society a better place to live. History has shown that societies with the most intrusive and leviathan governments are the least effective and restrict the liberties of individuals too the greatest degree. The classical liberals, whose philosophy of governance was anchored in the  Enlightenment  and The Age of Reason , believed in maximum liberty for the individual. They were wary of government, believing it was as much a force for evil as good. Classical Liberalism was about the individual, the rights of the individual, and the belief that the individual was not a vassal of the state, but rather should be the master of the state, limiting it's interference in the lives of the people. Perhaps the psychological association, the sociological association, the AMA, and Leviathan might find a way to push, and ultimately pass legislation that will grant privileged special class status to those suffering from said affliction. Of course this would allow for special consideration (employment and otherwise) for those so afflicted by this damaging psychological/medical affliction. Naturally much of the cost would be at tax payers expense. But I digress.
