Eric Erickson Disinvited The Donald to Red State Gathering...

Eric Erickson is generally considered a voice for the right-wing fringe in conservative and GOP politics by the site. That aside Eric deserves kudos and respect for his disinviting Donald Trump to his Red State Gathering. His reasons for doing so are sound and based on common decency. Hopefully many more conservatives and right libertarians will follow Eric's lead.
In those few short words Eric defined The Donald's character flaw. He is most certainly a misogynist and based on his previous comments about Mexicans a bigot and racist as well. There should be no place in the GOP (or any party) for a businessman/politician of Trump's character. He is simply a despicable and dishonest human being. For any political party to wish to be affiliated with him or his type defies logic. But as we all know there is the Tea Party fringe of the GOP who will stand by their man, and I use the term man in the loosest possible way, regardless.

Red State - I have tried to give a great deal of latitude to Donald Trump in his run for the Presidency.
He is not a professional politician and is known for being a blunt talker. He connects with so much of the anger in the Republican base and is not afraid to be outspoken on a lot of issues. But there are even lines blunt talkers and unprofessional politicians should not cross.
Decency is one of those lines.
As much as I do personally like Donald Trump, his comment about Megyn Kelly on CNN is a bridge too far for me.
In a CNN interview, Mr. Trump said of Megyn Kelly, “You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever.”
It was not the “blood coming out of her eyes” part that was the problem.

I don't commend Erickson at all. He and his ilk created FOXenstein's Monster. Erickson is just an independently contracted Igor.
ReplyDeleteJMJ
So colorful descriptive Jersey. However, be that as it may; even an Igor deserves acknowledgement when they do the right thing. Isn't it a fact that recognizing, encouraging, and then rewarding positive behavior
ReplyDeletehow you get more of the same? You know it is true.
Also Jersey, sometimes you have to rise above your
"hate" simply because it is the right thing for you to do.
Eric Erickson's being a bit "holier than thou" on the subject of being disrespectful to a woman. Here he is talking about candidate Barack Obama's wife in 2008:
ReplyDelete"Is Obama Shagging Hookers Behind the Media’s Back? I assume not. I assume that Obama’s marxist harpy wife would go Lorena Bobbit on him should he even think about it..."
And this:
"...pro-choice women were “feminazis…too ugly to get a date.”
And why stop at insulting women when you can be an equal-opportunity rotter:

LMRM: The nation loses the only goat fucking child molester to ever serve on the Supreme Court in David Souter's retirement. #TCOT #RS

I am not saying Erickson is a good person generally; all I am saying is this time he did the right thing. Acknowledging this is some sort of sin for the left?
DeleteI posted Erickson's remarks to show that he's not exactly a saint when it comes to insulting women. But he did the right thing by disinviting Donald to the Red State gathering.
DeleteDear Gawd! These Tea-Pee-ers quoted in the blog "The Immoral Minority" sound like Radical Redass and Rusty Chucklenuts escapees from the Stench Trench! They use the same language and threats that infest that execrable place:
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately individuals like those troglodyte's exist in society, they always have and they likely always will. Fortunately those who applaud behavior like Tr ump's are in the minority. Trog Trump will never be Prez. However keeping the pressure on the lying jackass (I've decided) is actually important. For many reasons.

ReplyDeleteTrump attempted to clarify the remark on Twitter and also released a statement claiming he said “‘blood coming out of her eyes and whatever,’ meaning nose.”
He added: “Only a deviant would think anything else.”
He also tweeted, “So many ‘politically correct’ fools in our country. We have to all get back to work and stop wasting time and energy on nonsense!”
Trump said that the decision to disinvite him stemmed from the fact that he is “an outsider and does not fit [Erickson’s] agenda,” additionally stating, “[N]ot only is Erick a total loser, he has a history of supporting establishment losers in failed campaigns so it is an honor to be uninvited from his event.”
I saw that as well. Anyone who listened to the remark, the slight pause, and noted troglodyte rump's voice lnflection knows precisely what the jackass meant.
DeleteI asked my wife who early on kinda liked Trumps outspokenness what she thought about the comment and Trump's intended message was. She must be a deviant and she won't be voting for Mr. Troglodyte trump should he make it to the general.
LOL! I don't hate Erickson, Les. I'm just calling him out for being a hypocrite. He and his ilk have done far worse than Trump ever did. They created him. Trump is a natural consequence of the low-brow pandering of the right wing punditry.
