    Right. Allen West was forced to retire from the army or face court martial for torturing a prisoner in his custody. He also lost his House seat -- rejected by the people in his own district. All he has is bombast and factless accusations that play into the hands of his low-information followers.

    Those are the same people who apparently have forgotten who actually illegally sold weapons to Iran -- an enemy of the U.S.

    Les, I saw where this video was posted. What else would anyone expect from a blog that promotes and glorifies pornography, racism, and antisemitism. One doesn't expect those folks to know a fact if it sat on their face.

    It is no wonder they'd choose Allen West, a loser, as someone to back up their "false facts".

    You are correct Shaw and certainly the crowd of which you speak eat hid brand for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

    What is unnerving is his play to extreme nationalism and militarism. Shades of facism. There are many who blindly refuse to see this.

I admit it... there are many philosophical, governmental, business, and ethical issues on which the POTUS and me would strongly disagree. I would be being less than honest if I claimed I didn't wish the POTUS were a different individual. One whose governing practices and philosophy of government more closely resembled that of Founding Fathers and responsible independent modern conservatives. The reality is however just this. The people of the United States elected this man to the highest office in the land for four years. Ron Paul - Republican Presidential Candidate I read with great interest Ron Paul's recent statements in Iowa with respect to the 911 attacks on America by Islamic extremists and their primary motivation. Nowhere in candidate Paul's statement did I see where he justified the attacks that resulted in the death of 3,000 plus Americans. What I did read was a rational analysis of what motivated the attackers and why they were so motivated. Call it thinking outside the confines of a restricted and often myopic view of reality. In other words Paul is saying first seek to understand the motivations of a dangerous extremist group and then seek to effect ways to change their reality. IE: Perception. Here you have it folks, the real truth. The socialist/statist left, the champions of the working man, blocking the extension of unemployment benefits to none other than... the working man and women. The Senate failed Thursday to extend benefits programs for laid off workers. The house on the other hand passed a bill that would have extended for one month the program so lawmakers could decide how to address the issue in the long term. The Senate, while trying to follow suit was not successful in  overcoming the strong objections of Senator Jim Bunning, Republican Senator from Kentucky. Senator Bunning would not support the bill on grounds that the additional  ten billion outlay would increase the Federal budget deficit.
