The Weekly Standard - Yesterday, Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez "won" reelection. Today, the White House is congratulating Venezuela on that outcome.
From the pool report, which details a gaggle held by White House spokesman Jay Carney:
-Carney said US congratulates Venezuelan people on its election, while noting the US has its differences with Chavez. {Read More}

A news report about a week ago had Chavez saying that he would vote for Obama, were he an American. I can find the article if you want.
ReplyDeletePlease do if possible Tim. Somebody had mentioned this but I did not see the article.
DeleteHere's the link:Reutuers: Chavez Endorses Obama
DeleteThis is Reuters reporting this, no less.
I wonder what Jersey McObamnunistclones has to say about this?
What next? Thanking the North Korean politburo for being environmentally friendly by denying its citizens food and electricity?
ReplyDeleteLMAO...
DeleteDid you read anything else about that election?
ReplyDeleteThe reason the some erstwhile enemies of Chavez, as is the Obama Administration, which has given him the cold shoulder, do note that this election was surprisingly clean. Chavez really did seem to have won - relatively honestly.
Whether the result of that relatively open election is good for Venezuela or any other nation is another matter, as the Obama administration reminded us.
In a way it's good news, and in a way it's not. It depends on who you are. BUT. Apparently, a sizeable number of Venezuelans, the people most directly affected by the Chavez regime, would rather keep his policies in place. That's interesting.
Taking a cheap shot at Obama is all well and fine, but isn't it interesting that so many Venezuelan voters chose Chavez?
To me, that would make for a better conversation.

What ever the Venezuelan's want they should get. The connection between the leftist in Venezuela and those in the Obama administration is quite eerie. In my never humble opinion.
DeleteAfter thought, I'm quite sure many American leftists would vote for Chavez as well if they were Venezuelan. Statists of a feather always seem to flock together.
DeleteThey would have no problem with Chavez' policies of jailing dissidents, cracking down on free speech, ruling with an iron fist...
DeleteOr as Jersey McObamunistclones above says, in a way, it's good news, in a way, it's not...
Nice to see you are against free elections. America should have a 90% turnout. I'm sure you think we should overthrow any freely elected government just because we disagree with it
ReplyDeleteAnon:
DeleteWrong. We have the right to overthrow any government -- freely elected or not -- that transgresses our Constitutional individual rights.
1) Your words not mine.
Delete2) Yes, it would be nice to see 90% turnout, Do you turn out.
3) Your words again, not mine.
You and you buddies over at PE can put words in another mouth all you want, it however does not represent truth.
Now, as you have nothing to offer don't come back as you will merely be wasting your time.
Anon said: "Nice to see you are against free elections."
DeleteNo, we are against fascism. And how can you call it a free election when the dictator in Venezuela rammed through a law that made it a crime to criticize him in Venezuelan media?
"I'm sure you think we should overthrow any freely elected government just because we disagree with it"
No, but we might have to overthrow this dictator who has won rigged elections if he moves forward with his loudly proclaimed promise to destroy the United States. That would only be self-defense on our part.
This Anon above is a voice defending fascism and dictatorship.
DeleteThere's no bigger waste of time than reading your shit opinions
ReplyDeleteI assure you the feeling is quite mutual.
DeleteNow bye, bye...
You have no clue what my opinions are, you think I'm Steve. Just more proof how bad your judgment is.
DeleteWhatever Anon, whatever...
DeleteBye, Bye...
That Sean Penn endorsement probably tipped it for him, Les. It's the only thing that I can think of.
ReplyDeleteLMAO!
DeleteI have a job for Mr. Penn when and if the acting gigs start to dry up on him; spell-checker at an M&M factory.
