The Failure of the Keynesian State

Given it is a holiday weekend, as well as a rather slow day with respect to any real noteworthy political items, I decided to visit the Ludwig Van Mises Institute. Looking for something of interest on economic theory and or policy I found this video on Keynesian predictions. The subject matter starts just past the five minute mark.

    That's a great video. Tom Woods is a very entertaining speaker as he's just plain funny. He also knows his stuff, especially about the history of the Catholic Church.

Nor can I pretend to argue exactly what may be the correct model for any given business or household to follow. Sure I have my beliefs as to what might work best based on my experiences, and from a common sense point of view it is hard to argue with frugal concepts of spending and living within your means, building a nest egg for the future, and having a small "rainy day" fund to fall back on in times of uncertainty. It all makes sense in a simple and direct sort of way. The nation's fiscal house is  a mess.
