A Classic Jazz Tune

Again I find myself on a late Saturday night, following a fine dinning experience and an incredibly good Portuguese wine, contemplating the political events of this past week. The exercise at best has me scratching my balding head. For there is no rational explanation for Barrack Hussein Obama, Newt Gingrich, or the rest of the political hacks be they republican or democrat.

So I hope you will forgive me for my momentary inability to offer my usual political insight and reasoned independent conservative commentary. In its place I offer an American Jazz Classic performed by Miles Davis in his 1958 rendition of the Gershwin tune Summertime.



Listening to great jazz sure beats politics! Well, sometimes anyway.

    A genius on a par with Picasso, Mussorgsky, and Baryshnikov. I especially loved his 60s ensemble with Tony Williams, Herbie Hancock, etc..

An Open Letter to My Father and Mentor

Mrs. Rational and I took our dynamo back home to Mom and Dad yesterday as he will be going with them to Myrtle Beach Friday for two weeks. Yes, he is one lucky, and very appreciative dynamo. His family is hard working and as a result he is able to enjoy some of the fruits of their labor. With continued perseverance, and maybe a bit of luck this dynamo will be as educated and forward thinking as his supportive family. Coming home for a day before heading south to the casinos I could not resit the temptation to visit the ever present Memeorandum and catch up just a bit on current events.
