A fascinating exchange between gay Representative Barney Frank D-MA and a CNS reporter. Barney certainly captured the upper hand {quickly} and never lost it. My take, don't send an obvious wet behind the ears reporter to pose questions with respect to an ethical issue with a seasoned BS'er. Especially when the obvious underlying purpose is to put the feet of the interviewee to the fire.

Irrespective of ones beliefs in regards to the DADT repeal one has to agree "ole Barney" won the debating points on this one.

Independent Conservatism

I have, for many years, considered myself to be an independent conservative . Asked by some just what that means I would reply it implies I believe in the radical political views held by the founding fathers. Men of enlightened thinking who personified  "The Age of Reason." There have been many occasions I have been brought to task for pointing to the wisdom of  such giants as Washington, Jefferson, Paine, Franklin... the list could go on but for a lack of time. We have some Americans in our population who have difficulty speaking a coherent sentence. We have many who cannot construct a complete and proper sentence. Yet we find the time and the money to educate youth in Arabic and Arabic culture. Mind you this is a Federal Grant program and limited to only five select school districts. At least for now. Historic Decision Reversing Campaign Laws

The Supreme Court, in a five to four decision, on  this Thursday overturned a six decade old law designed to limit the influence of large corporations and unions on elections. The new ruling will allow for unlimited spending by both large business and unions in support of, or opposition to candidates for Congress and the presidency. The six decade old law essentially prohibited labor unions and companies from using monies from their general treasuries for the purpose of producing and running campaign ads. The reversal however leaves intact the prohibition on direct contributions from businesses and unions. The decision of the court also overturned the McCain/Feingold campaign finance bill which prohibited corporate and union funded issue ads in the final days of a campaign. America has just been given a glimpse into the future as crafted by President Barrack Husein Obama if you will. And the future looks VERY bleak.
