America is indeed at a crossroads. The choices we make today will determine the reality of tomorrow for future generations as well as this generation in the near future.

As a true independent conservative I have no desire other than to see the individual, and the individual states of this nation retain their own unique identity. Funny thing... in my ignorance as the Chairman is so quickly to point out, this sounds an awful a lot like Jeffersonian principals.

The rancor that the Chairman has cultivated aside, I hope the following gives thought to those with open minds... unlike the Chairman.

It certainly doesn't mesh with the world that I see and it doesn't mesh the data, either. According to the Charitable Aid Foundation, the United States is THE most generous country on the planet (65% of its citizens donate money, 43% donate personal time, and 73% help out strangers). And to think that this type of charity would somehow shrink up if in fact the government did decide to cut back a little is both ridiculous AND insulting..............................................................................................I also deeply resent the demonization of wealth and achievement in this society. CNN Poll Showing Tight Race Going Into Debates...

Obama's lead is within the margin of error. Understanding polls are at best statistical indicators of public sentiment, and they can be manipulated through the process of weighting, I do not place an abundance of faith in polls. I decided to post these results mostly as a realistic reminder to the euphoria the left seems to be enjoying at the present moment. Polls by ABC News/Washington Post, Politico/George Washington University, and American Research Group indicate a tight race as well. CNN has averaged the results of all four polls as well as a Fox News poll of last week and the results show Obama at 49% and Romney at 46%, again within the margin of error.
