"Hey Take a Pain Pill"

The Presidents answer to senior citizens and the elderly. Hmm, Anyone wonder where ObamaCare is heading to cut costs?

Comments

  1. Her question was: “Outside the medical criteria for prolonging life for somebody who is elderly. Is there any consideration that can be given for a certain spirit, a certain joy of living, a quality of life or is it just a medical cut off at a certain age?”

Obama: “We’re not going to solve every difficult problem in terms of end of life care. A lot of that is going to have to be we as a culture and as a society starting to make better decisions within our own families and for ourselves.”

Personally, I’m all for living wills and making preparation for “end of life care”, and I’ve made my own such “arrangements”, but Government has NO business dictating to anyone to do this. There are people who don’t want to make these choices while they are young; some don’t want to make the decisions AT ALL--period. And that is THEIR right.

Obama: “But what we can do is make sure that at least some of the waste that exists in the system that’s not making anybody’s mom better; that is loading up on additional test or additional drugs that the evidence shows is not necessarily going to improve care, that at least we can let doctors know, and your mom know, that you know what? This isn’t going to help. Maybe you’re better off not having the surgery but taking the pain killer.”

So, he says: ’We can let the doctors know.’ And, “Let your mom know.” Which equates to “Government deciding” how something will be done. That’s not right. Patient care should be between the patient and the doctor or the doctor and the patient’s family. The government needs to be kept out of the equation—period. Obama’s answer, which wasn’t an answer to the question, only told us what we already suspected—there will be government distribution because they will “deem” when a person is “too old” or doesn’t have “quality of life”.

I find this all so sad because there are so many people who think Obama-care is some utopia when it is anything but. Bigger government is never an utopia as it just grows and grows because it knows nothing else.

  2. Pam - You are right on all counts. We will see health care rationing if this thing passes.

As Ezekiel Emanuel essentially said, and I paraphrase, A person 20 years of age would be more deserving of care than a 60 year old because the 60 year already lived 40 more years.

The Emmanuel brothers are as evil as is this bill, and they are part of the problem.
