The Future of Health Care in America?

By: Les Carpenter III

As we wait for the historic vote on the abomination that is ObamaCare... Rational Nation USA leaves you with the following video. The decision the put it up on this site was difficult as it is shocking in a sense. America has spoken repeatedly against ObamaCare, yet the forces of the state (statism) are casting an ever increasing shadow over America. And with it a growing lose of liberty and the ability to choose and control your own life.

  1. Strange Les. When Americans like me speak in favor of this you don't say "American speak in favor of health care reform." But you extend the honor of your recognizing the "Americanism" of those that agree with you on this.

And you wonder why I am what I am.

  2. Truth - This bill is not health care reform to begin with and you at one point acknowledged this.

Secondly this bill is just a beginning and the greater degree of statism it will thrust upon America is something I stand against.

I am an individualist first and foremost and believe in self reliance and self determination. I, nor most people require the government to decide if, and what kind of health insurance we need. Furthermore it is unconstitutional for the state to require I purchase any product or service.

That is not to say I fail to recognize there are those who do need help. The physically and mentally challenged. The aged who should be revered in America and this bill sadly will see that they are further marginalized and considered "more" expendable than the, as Ezekiel Emanuel and Obama are on record stating such.

What we are talking about is fascism, collectivism, statism.... and all forms of government intrusion into individual lives and decision making.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black (not a racist remark just so you libs understand)) you "honor" all that agree with your collectivist statist view and show little respect for their views.

    Yes strange indeed...

Good luck on the trite little ditty posted on your site. Another attempt by you to belittle those who disagree with your views.

Keep on drinking the kool aid. Oh, and don't miss the bus.

  3. This bill is a step towards real health care reform RN. I acknowledge that. Just as you once said you thought the Swiss system TAO endorsed was a good idea.

The world shrinks more every day. Other countries support their businesses through nationalized health care. Relieving business of the burden of health insurance and administration expense. Our government needs to be involved so our business can compete globally. Health care reform is pro business despite the deluded rhetoric of the right.

The "kool aid" that made my internet persona what it is was blended and constantly being stirred by the right. Blame them if I come off as angry and condescending.

Don't worry about accusations of racism from me regarding old cliches RN. When we try and find racism where there is none the racists win.

  4. Oh, Rational....

You miss the point...we have given up on capitalism and replaced it with corporatism.

We marvel at all that Ronald Reagan said and did...but the reality is that he and his 'supply side economics' is what began the revolution that destroyed capitalism and replaced it with corporatism.

    As Ludwig Von Mises states:

"The direction of all economic affairs is in the market society a task of the entrepreneurs. Theirs is the control of production. They are at the helm and steer the ship. A superficial observer would believe that they are supreme. But they are not. They are bound to obey unconditionally the captain's orders. The captain is the consumer. ...[Consumers] make poor people rich and rich people poor. They determine precisely what should be produced, in what quality, and in what quantities."

ITS THE CONSUMER, ITS DEMAND that makes a system capitalistic...not the worship of supply.

Supply side economics destroyed capitalism...not the left, not the socialists but the welfare queens of corporate America.

This was a revolution that began with supply side economics...where the beliefs that jobs were created by tax cuts to the wealthy....that is where it started...

Because that was when the consumer ceased to matter and when the consumer no longer matters then you do not have capitalism you have fuedalism.

See, even the pre eminent economist of the Austrian School agrees with me....the CAPTAIN of the economic ship called CAPITALISM is the consumer...

Oh, go ahead and call me a collectivist, a Leninist, a Leftist....but the truth of the matter is that I am more of a traditionalist than you or your hero Ronnie...

The reason the Swiss Plan, while obviously being a very capitalistic solution to the issue of providing healthcare to a nation is because it forces insurance companies to COMPETE and to be EFFICIENT....

That's just too much like work and just too risky to corporations....why work and compete when you can just sit back and be lazy....

  5. Truth - I agree with your point on racism, I only wish more lefties agreed with you.

  6. TAO - Without going into detail, as you would merely use circular thinking to twist my words, There are points you make above I can find common ground with.

But as I said, since you distort, misrepresent, and loathe all that I stand for (and you started it)I leave it up to you if you care to the opportunity to figure exactly which ones for yourself.

    Good Day
