America's Majority Does Not Like ObamaCare Bill
By Les Carpenter III

The Capital on the evening Congress arguably voted the biggest power grab since FDR and his new deal. The night when socialized medicine was narrowly approved by congress on a straight party line vote.
What is telling is thedemocrats socialists in congress passed this bill over the heads of a public that clearly does not want it. The fact they ignored the public, and railroaded ObamaCare through congress using strong are tactics and deal making is telling.
These people are none other than a group of elected officials who have become so deluded as to believe they know best. That somehow being members of congress equates to them being all knowing. Therefor they feel free to dictate to their constituency whatever it is theythink feel is right. And if you don't agree to bad... after all we are are nothing more than the underclass. In other words they see themselves as members of the elite class and thus have the right and indeed duty to guide us and show us the way.
Now for some data on how America thinks;
A majority of American actually have a very din view of ObamaCare. They believe (correctly so) that it give the federal government to much control over their lives and really wont do much the control and reduce health costs. The public also believe the bill will do little to reduce the federal deficits.
Results from a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll...
59% of the people surveyed opposed the bill.
Only 39% said they supported the bill.
56% said the bill gives the federal government to much involvement in health care.
Only 28% believe the bill gives the government a proper role.
A scant 16% believe the bill does not give the government a large enough role.
62% believe the bill will increase the amount of money they will have to spend on health care.
21% said they thought costs would remain the same.
Only 16% believe the bill will reduce health care costs.
People involved in the survey overwhelming think the bill will increase th federal budget deficits.
Fully 70% of of survey respondents believe deficits will increase due to the bill.
17% believe deficits will remain stable at current levels.
only 12% thought deficits would go down.
The massive ObamaCare bill is the largest expansion in social entitlements since Lydon Johnson's "Great Society" and Medicare and Medicaid. With the long term viability of Social Security in question, and Medicare and Medicaid further draining the treasury this bill may be the most ill advised ever.
The CBO's preliminary estimates are that costs will be approximately 940 billion over the first 10 years. It is also predicted that offsetting provisions will reduce budget deficits by 143 billion the first ten years and by 1 trillion the following 10 years.
Remember these are projections out over 20 years. Aside from the fact no one has a crystal ball the government always overestimates savings and underestimates cost. Some estimates of cost the first 10 years are as much as 2.5 to 3.0 trillion dollars. No one really knows for sure right now, but given the governments history the cost is likely to be much higher than projected.

So to recap, what we have is an elitist group ofdemocrats socialists who knows just what is right for a public that clearly doesn't want this bill. A group of statists that are bent on grabbing more power and control over our lives resulting in a corresponding loss of liberty the right to chose. And to top it off we will likely see ever increasing deficits for as far as the eye can see.
This bill, if it stands, will do as much to put this nation on the road to fiscal insolvency as GWB and his policies did. And it certainly threatens our liberties every bit as much as the Patriot Act did... according to the left.

They are banking on eventually taking back the majority the GOP will win in November.
ReplyDeleteThey are also banking on the fact that never in our nation's history have we repealed a program of this magnitude.
Don't laugh. The press is their propaganda arm, and all we will be hearing about is the greedy, hateful Republicans and their KKK teabagger followers.
It's going to get very sickening around here...
Consider this: If Obama hands out enough goodies from the bill now, such as money for us old folks for our prescription drugs (big hairy deal) and allowing kids to stay on their parents' insurance, he might make enough people happy to enable him to get re-elected in 2012, which would be a travesty of Biblical proportions, right out of the Book of Judges: "Every man did that which was right in his own eyes." Actually these guys have no sense of right and wrong, which justifies their accusations of the right being hateful."

Silverfidle - I agree..... sickening and nasty.
ReplyDeleteYou bet,the government/media complex willbe working overtime in overdrive to spin the BS.
Unfortunately unless We the people win in a Supreme Court Challenge they may just be right. It won't be repealed.
granny - I agree with you 100%! These individuals have no sense of etical and moral behavior. It's about the power, onlythe power.
Donald - Lets hope 2010 is the first wave, completion in 2012!
