Two Weeks for Iran to Come Clean - Or Not?
And here we have it, from the mouth of our nefarious Leader on the nuclear threat posed by Iran. Iran has been given two weeks to allow inspections at their "just uncovered" uranium refinery plant. Thats right, he made the statement in a speech Thursday following a meeting with the P5 + 1, a coalition of nations apparently working on a dipomatic solution.
Some of his tough words; "In pursuit of that goal, today's meeting was a constructive beginning, but it must be followed with constructive action by the Iranian government" , and further "We're not interested in talking for the sake of talking. Wow, feel the muscle flex?
Ian Kelly, a State Department spokesperson however said on Friday the the two weeks deadline wasn't etched in stone. That it wasn't a hard and fast time frame. To quote Ian Kelly; "I don't know that it's written in stone, necessarily, ......."but I think we'll find out more details when — after [IAEA head Mohamed] ElBaradei's trip."
So, I guess its two weeks, but, maybe not. The fine art of diplomacy at work in the Obama administration. Waffling from our meek Leader. Could it be the Hitler of our time will pull the successful time evasion tactics and win? All Ahmadinejad needs is time. Lets hope our fearless Leader Obama really means to get tough. Before it's to late.

This was known about long before Obama became president RN. Are you suggesting we just bomb the hell out of Iran right now?
ReplyDeleteI did like your manifesto points RN. Quite rational they are.
Thank you. And no I am not suggesting that right now. However, a deadline means nothing unless there is a consequence for failing to comply.
ReplyDeleteIran's leadership has shown time and time again it cares not about the opinions of the world.
And so why would they care now is my point.
You are correct, Bush knew of this as well. I also question why he did not take firmer action.
