So, Which is it Mr. Frothy?

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation U S A Liberty -vs- Tyranny Rick  (Frothy)  Santorum I have little to say in response to the recent hypocrisy of one Rick (the Frothy) Santorum. A man whose only apparent conviction it to tell the rest of thinking Americans just what is right and wrong. For everybody. Excerpt from the San Francisco Chronicle There are 18,000 married gay and lesbian couples in California and at least 131,000 nationwide according to the 2010 census, conducted before New York state legalized same-sex marriage in July. Rick Santorum says he'll try to unmarry all of them if he's elected president. Once the U.S. Constitution is amended to prohibit same-gender marriages, "their marriage would be invalid," the former Pennsylvania senator said Dec. 30 in an NBC News interview. "We can't have 50 different marriage laws in this country," he said. "You have to have one marriage law." The comments didn't attract near...

Note to Radical Islamists

You don't kill people....for burning a book. OK? YOU JUST DON'T DO IT. Yes, burning a holy book is an extremely disrespectful thing, and the people who do it should be criticized. But you DON'T KILL THEM. And you especially don't kill a bunch of innocent people who had absolutely nothing to do with the original action. I mean, yes, I understand the fact that mobs/anomie can sometimes make people do things that they normally wouldn't do on their own. But, come on, some of you frigging assholes are college educated and could possibly talk some reason to these people (running around acting like stark-raving lunatics). That, and you eventually DO want to join modernity, no? NO?

Given the present state of American politics the series is instructional as well as interesting. libribooks - The Politics, by the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle, is one of the most influential texts in political philosophy. In it, Aristotle explores the role that the political community should play in developing the virtue of its citizens. One of his central ideas is that "Man is a political animal," meaning that people can only become virtuous by active participation in the political community. Aristotle also criticizes his teacher Plato, classifies and evaluates six different types of constitutions and political institutions, and describes his vision of the ideal state. Aristotle's views on women and slavery are unenlightened by today's standards, but his work remains...

And it isn't to lower the cost of energy. Irrespective of the financial headships it will place on those who right now can ill afford it rising energy costs are seen as a positive by Obama and Chu. POWERLINE - Barack Obama came into office as an anti-petroleum crusader. He made no bones about the fact that he wanted gas prices to rise; likewise, his Secretary of Energy, Steven Chu, explained that he wanted U.S. gas prices to rise to European levels. In those days, global warming alarmists were riding high, and the Obama administration accepted the idea that to prevent climate change, it should suppress production of domesti...
