Perry's "Niggerhead" Hunting Camp and the Heat Cain is Getting For His Comment the Name is Offensive

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Birthplace of Independent Conservatism Liberty -v s- Tyranny There are many reasons neither the republican party nor the democratic party appeals to this independent conservative. First and foremost is the simple fact that both are home to opportunists that really have no consistent philosophy or ethical standards that guide them.... Other than what it will take to win the next election. Not all mind you, but certainly more than just a few. The current hoopla over the name of Perry's hunting camp, called "Niggerhead" and Cain's remark that is was offensive to many blacks has me scratching my head. I mean really really really scratching it. 1} Cain was correct in his assessment the camp's name is insensitive and offensive to blacks, just as it should be to all people regardless of their race. 2} On the other hand while Perry may not be the conservative he plays himself up to be {based on his actual politics} he is not...

The Inconsistencies and Hypocrisy...

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Birthplace of Independent Conservatism Liberty -v s- Tyranny Okay, call me confused, or whatever the F anyone would like to characterize me. It really doesn't matter. You see, the the right is full of sh*t and the left is even more full of sh*t.. To which I have determined to say... SO WHAT. It's a game people. And the name of the game is who who will gain the upper hand and ultimately have  control   of the people. It is sickening, it is unethical, it is immoral, it is life sapping, it is irrational, and it is contrary to the principals this nation was founded on. To which the MODERN day democratic party, as well as the republican party respond by saying... So What? Both parties feel they must force acceptance of their statist anti individual and anti liberty agendas on the people. What is interesting,  putting all the hyperbole aside is this... Our country will continue to accept the same old BS from both...

William Jefferson Clinton In Perspective...

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Birthplace of Independent Conservatism Liberty -v s- Tyranny Okay, here we go. Why you rightfully find yourself asking does this independent conservative site have ex President William Jefferson Clinton so predominately displayed. Answer... Because we believe in a rational and objective {as opposed to fair and balanced) analysis of of reality. Bill Clinton, by any measure of rational analysis must be viewed as an effective President. He indeed left office leaving the nation with a positive balance sheet. Unfortunately the incoming President George W. Bush found himself in the unfortunate and unenviable position of having to address 911 and at the same time respond to the very real threat radical Islam presented not only the USA but the world at large. Did Bush makes mistakes? Absolutely. In retrospect his two biggest were Iraq and the Patriot act. So, we live and learn. Back to Bill Clinton. I often find myself thinking back to hi...

Obama: I Lead, You Follow Message To Congress

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Birthplace of Independent Conservatism Liberty -v s- Tyranny I am sure that everyone of rational mind will forgive me my indiscretion. President Obama sent a jobs bill {speech first with no specifics} to Congress three weeks ago. Now, three weeks later the President is asking Congress to act and send his bill back. To this Congress ought to be replying... Really? I guess in a sense Congress has sent this exact message to the POTUS. It seems that there are democrats, as well as republicans that are not ready to buy into another Obama initiative that will likely produce zero net results. Of this at a cost to those that are the most likely producers of jobs and increased national wealth. The memory of Obama's failed bailout and stimulus packages are still fresh in the minds of those who no doubt are up for reelection in 2012. Reality sure does have a way of changing ones perspective. No? Here then is the President's sorry pitch ...
