Truth, Integrity, and Clarity... Virtues Lacking in Modern Politics

Liberty -vs- Tyranny
The picture directly above was used on a earlier article by yours truly entitled Fog, Progressives, the Land of the Lost, and Animal Farm. Today I still stand solidly behind the article and its premise.
However, in witnessing the present day "right" and its continuing and obvious trend towards the perversion of our Nation's roots, which is to say "Classical Liberalism" and the Constitution, which of course was written by "classical liberals", primarily James Madison, I cannot help but to throw the same blanket criticism over current so called conservatives.
To blame one political party or philosophy exclusively for our present national problems is, to say the very least foolish. Some, and I include myself in the "some", would say it borders on, if not entirely a stupid and unjust statement.
As we witness the dis-indigenous, inept, inconsistent, often hideous, corrupt, and blathering frothy fools currently running to capture the big "R" statist Republican nomination {Ron Paul being the only exception}, all honest thinking American who understands, and believe in the Classical Liberal principles written into our Constitution, and upon on which this nation was built must be cringing at the lack of choices. Whether we end up with President Obama for four more years or a statist big " R" republican will make little difference. Either way we shall continue on the road to increasing loss of individual liberties, greater state control over our lives, and greater fiscal insanity.
Just my opinion. I welcome yours.

Looking for Truth, Integrity, and Clarity in government is like looking for love in a whorehouse...
ReplyDeleteYes, true in a sense Silver. However, to accept such and say nothing makes one pert of the problem does it not?
DeleteI suppose you think Randian ideology would survive purity after 60 years of reality in the American political system. She couldn't even survive 60 years in the American political opinion system.
ReplyDeleteWhat I think is not important. What is important is individuals read Rand, all of her work not just fiction, and read to understand.
DeleteIt is ideologues like yourself on the left that has distorted Rand's philosophy to further their ideological beliefs.
