Frothiness Spells Defeat in 2012...

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny Republicans, specifically the "socons" will result in conservatism continuing its downward spiral into irrelevancy. Rather than sticking to "classical liberal" principals of limited constitutional government, fiscal responsibility, a strong defense yet turning from interventionist foreign policy, and insuring and maintaining maximum individual freedoms the "socons" are bastardizing the conservative principles championed by the father of modern conservatism Barry Goldwater. I have attempted to point out the political dangers that are inherent in the "socons" ideological and religionist agenda. This morning, coming across perhaps one of the most reasoned articles in regard to this issue, I decided to bring it to the pages of Rational Nation USA . Here's the teaser. John Avlon - The Daily Beast - A cleansing bout of craziness in 2012 could be just what the GOP needs. I’...

Montesquieu

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny I have recently become quite interested in the influence french philosopher Montesquieu had on the thinking of our founding fathers. While researching for a short time last night I came across some quotes attributed to him that remain quite relevant today. Especially in this, the age of growing religious intolerance. Given the possibility that His Frothiness {Santorum} is, and will continue to gain ground among the "socon" republican ranks in his quest to fulfill "Gods Will" to become the next president of the US I thought it helpful to pass on the following for those who already are, or may be considering supporting him. Santorum, like so many other religious "socons" pose perhaps the greatest threat to individual liberties than anything currently on our radar scope. Charles Montesquieu - I can assure you that no kingdom has ever had as many civil wars as the kingdom of Christ. Do y...

Obama Facts...

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny President Rutherford B. Hayes President Obama in his recent remarks on energy reached back in time to find a former republican President that he said was resistant to change and progress. Of course his plan was to draw parallels between this President of the later half of the 1800's and present day republicans that question his {Obama's} wisdom on energy. Politico 44 - "One of my predecessors, President Rutherford B. Hayes, reportedly said about the telephone: 'It’s a great invention but who would ever want to use one?'" Obama said. "That's why he's not on Mt. Rushmore." "He's looking backwards, he's not looking forward. He's explaining why we can't do something instead of why we can do something," Obama said. "The point is there will always be cynics and naysayers." Had the President checked his information... The curator of the R...

Desecration, Hero Worship, or Both...

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny The visual sickens me. Upon seeing this I could only sit, with my head in my hands and wonder what in the hell is the democratic party, and it's supporters coming to. The American flag belongs to the American people. It represents the thirteen original colonies that gave birth to this nation of ours and the fifty states that make up the United States today. It stands for the concept of liberty and the freedoms that millions of Americans have died for in giving birth to, and defending. It is larger than one man, any man. Whether they be this president or any other. Placing the image of the current, or any future president amounts to both a desecration of our flag and signifies that that one person is greater than the union they were elected to serve. It is both a disgrace and a insult to everything our republic was built on and should still stand on. The democratic party headquarters in Florida's Lake County...

As Santorum {the Frothy} Takes Alabama and Mississippi...

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny Watching the republican primaries has just about convinced me that Obama is going to secure a second term. Not because he is deserving of reelection on the merits of his first term, rather because his opposition is so glaringly weak. Ron Paul, the candidate with some real horsepower between his ears really never stood a chance in the republican field. Being the ONLY consistent, limited government constitutional conservative who is truly liberty minded he scares the hell out of most people. The simple reason? He tells it like it is and not what people want to hear. The other three candidate, Mittens, Frothy, and Newtie are anything but fiscal conservatives. For those who have actually looked at their records the evidence is clear and I need not run it again. For those who haven't taken the time already running it again probably wouldn't matter anyway. The three stooges as I fondly call them have no problem i...

Voltaire Quote and Some Thoughts

Image
Cross-posted at the Left Coast Rebel " Work banishes those three great evils, boredom, vice, and poverty ." -- Voltaire No doubt a great quote (thanks to a family member on Facebook). As a personal aside I am not bored in the slightest and haven't been in some time. I engage in no device(s), weekends excepted of course... Poverty -- though Obamanomics has adversely affected each and every one of us -- is not something I have the misfortune of looking forward to. And I thank my family, my hard work upbringing -- as well as a sharp, active mind and the opportunity that even this damaged, great nation affords -- for just that. Though I am tired at times, you won't find me bitching and moaning, homesteading or squatting and complaining about how unfair life is and how a benevolent Nanny State should rectify all the ills and injustices of our unjust society or accepting (in the slightest) that which our culture spews at us that is anathema to what a free m...

Obama is Muslim... According to Plurality of Alabama and Mississippi Voters

by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny With our nation drowning in a vast sea of read ink, an administration that continues to push for more dependency on the federal bureaucracy {aka Leviathan}, increasing federal regulations, a manufacturing infrastructures that continues in decline -- especially heavy industry, and the slow erosion of individual liberties just to name a few issues of consequence, I can not help but shake my head and snicker when I see reports like the following. New York - It has been a while since the question of President Obama's religion -- his true religion, maybe the religion he or his "church" don't want you to know about -- has been on the national agenda. And the upcoming Alabama and Mississippi primaries are an opportune time to raise it, since Republicans from Alabama and Mississippi are a discerning bunch and especially apt to see through the president's tissue of lies. Skip The poll also finds that tw...

Lets Get the Hell Out of Afghanistan Already Mr. President...

Image
by: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny Afghanistan War Protests It is time for the United States of America to pull out of Afghanistan and tell the Afghanistan people to go to hell. The overwhelming majority do not want us there nor do they understand, nor care to understand our republic form of governance. They still exist in the 7th century. So let them wallow in their backward and self destructive way of life. It is after all none of our business nor is it in our immediate self interest to dally there any longer. The American people by a 60% margin believe we should get out of the Afghanistan hell hole right now. This is one area where Republicans (the real conservatives anyway) and Democrats ought to be able to find common ground and presure the President to move now and move fast to pull our trops and support from the corrupt Afghanistan government. ABC News - Sixty percent of Americans say the war in Afghanistan has not been not worth fighting and ...

"Give Em Hell Harry"

Image
From the desk of: Les Carpenter Rational Nation USA Liberty -vs- Tyranny President Harry Truman I was born the year President Harry Truman left office. I remember my father talking about President Truman and even as a young boy I knew he held great respect and admiration for the man. As I studied history I was a bit surprised that not more time was given to the study of this remarkable man of integrity. Just the other day my father sent me something I believe bears publication here at Rational Nation USA . The mark of a great leader is one who leads by example and expects little in return for his leadership. Harry Truman was a example of a great leader. I don't know who wrote the following, but whoever it was my hats off to you. Harry Truman was a different kind of President. He probably made as many, or more important decisions regarding our nation's history as any of the other 42 Presidents preceding him. However, a measure of his greatness may rest on what h...
