Awakening To Clarity and Love...

 


Looking into the mind one sees open spaciousness and luminosity's glow,
as it baths the infinite expanses of the cosmos.

Aware of the tender compassion that naturally fills the beating heart,
love flows forth, as it helps relieve the suffering of all sentient beings in samsara.

Realizing that form is emptiness, and emptiness is form,
one awakens to enlightened wisdom, understanding, and bliss all three.

Sitting on the cushion, deep in meditation's relaxed state,
the truth of non-duality arises and manifests in consciousness.

Resting in the awareness of one's own Buddha nature,
equanimity, serenity, and boundless love and compassion flow.

It certainly doesn't mesh with the world that I see and it doesn't mesh the data, either. According to the Charitable Aid Foundation, the United States is THE most generous country on the planet (65% of its citizens donate money, 43% donate personal time, and 73% help out strangers). And to think that this type of charity would somehow shrink up if in fact the government did decide to cut back a little is both ridiculous AND insulting..............................................................................................I also deeply resent the demonization of wealth and achievement in this society. Obama's lead is within the margin of error. Understanding polls are at best statistical indicators of public sentiment, and they can be manipulated through the process of weighting, I do not place an abundance of faith in polls. I decided to post these results mostly as a realistic reminder to the euphoria the left seems to be enjoying at the present moment. Polls by ABC News/Washington Post, Politico/George Washington University, and American Research Group indicate a tight race as well.
