Like the millions of law abiding citizens I am torn between the right to bear firearms and finding the point at which it makes logical sense to restrict that right. In a modern society in which the tools of warfare are advanced beyond what the founders could possibly have envisioned, and the efficiency of modern armies are such that the citizens would stand no reasonable chance against the modern army, does the possession of semiautomatic assault weapons have any real purpose for the homeowner and sportsman? Marco Rubio, who had led all of our polling since December, has dropped all the way to 6th place. Rand Paul now has the lead nationally, to go along with the leads he posted in our most recent Iowa and New Hampshire polls. And Ted Cruz has already hit double digits. The right, and by right I am referring to the far right. Those who spend time distracting from the importance of the issue by bringing up Bill Clinton, George Takei, or some other incidence of democratic sexual misconduct as though that makes it okay if in fact the allegations are ultimately shown to be true. Sexual misconduct is always wrong, regardless whether the sexual predator is a conservative, a liberal, a republican, or a democrat. It is especially egregious when the predator holds a position of power and influence over a younger individual, such as was the case with Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky. Roy Moore, an adult male in a position of influence and power allegedly pursued under age teenagers, one as young 14.
