    1. 1) FreeThinke/Franco/Roger was NOT a dear friend. Far from it.

      2) FreeThinke/Franco/Roger was an evil person, a demon in my view.

      3) And, Thise weblog has nothing further to say about YOUR demon friend FreeThinke/Franco/Roger Anonomous.

  2. Off topic, but interesting. I was banned from a RW blog a couple years back
(adding historical context to a love feast about the Knights Templar), but
check by once in awhile. They report today-
"Please pray for all of us who knew Roger (FreeThinke, Franco……….whatever names he used!??)…His name was ROGER and I doubt he’d care if I mention it here and now.
He was a very rough guy…hot and cold, mean and kinder than anybody ever, very bright, opinionated to a fault, talented………you name it. A hard guy to care about but many of us did. I think most of us knew him about 20 years now! He was part of the blogging fabric. We will miss him." -- Not sure if he left his mess here, but sounds familiar.

  5. What is it about people who try to make others feel bad about not wanting to be hypocrites? Many of us knew Roger/Free/Franco. He was a troubled man who I think suffered from a personality disorder. He had wild, violent swings of emotions, and that's why I terminated our brief friendship. He was too unpredictable and unstable to be trusted as a friend.

You're entitled, RN, to your feelings about him, and no one has the right to suggest anything is wrong about your not wanting to be a hypocrite and pretend his passing upset you. Unlike many of his followers and fellow bloggers, you're not a two-faced hypocrite.

    Bravo!

    1. What is it about people who try to make others feel bad about not wanting to be hypocrites?

My grandfather, a man I greatly admired as well as loved always said, and I qoute, if you call me a son of a bitch when I'm alive call me a son of a bitch when I die. His lack of hypocrisy and his sterling honesty provided an example I've tried to life by my whole life. Both my grandfather and father put a very high value on honesty and both had total disdain for hypocrisy.

I felt sorry for FreeThinke/Franco/Roger because I always knew he was was both intelligent and highly educated. As well as an accomplised musician. Unfortunately FreeThinke/Franco/Roger has serious anger issues that at times he was unable to control as you pontted out. Sad but it was was it was. Personally I always though he might be bi-polar. Not his fault if he was but if he suffered from that he sure did a lousy job of managing and controlling it. Whatever it was.

Had FreeThinke/Franco/Roger been less judgemental of those that disagreed with his views and refrained from the visious and untrue things he wrote about those who did my views ov him would have be vastly different. While I wish death on no one (not even tump) I cannot be a hypocrite and prentend he was great guy who I will miss. He wasn't to many and I won't, period.

      And, thanks

  6. RN... the hagiography towards Free is interesting. For me, I saw nothing charitable in his attitude towards his enemies. That's the very basis for the claimed faith that he claimed and called others to follow. The problem was that no one could see in his words and denunciations and of that charity, love or care for others, the least of these, or even his enemies that Jesus modeled in his life.

If someone doesn't want to live that life, that's fine, it's their choice, but if you choose to follow that path, are vocal about it, and call others to do so also, you have a duty to represent the faith well. And the language Free used, and the militant attitude he displayed towards those with whom he disagreed was nothing like what Jesus would have done.

    1. Here is how I have always viewed FreeThinke/Franco/Roger... he was a man interested only in his own SELFISH interests. If you agreed with his version of anything he was your friend. If you disagreed and vocalized your disagreement he was EVERYTHING but charitable. Many times he was off the rails.

Whether he had serious emotional/mental issue is anybodies guess. Not being a psychologists that worked with him this is of course just my armchair counselor viewpoint. But there is no question that FreeThinke/Franco/Roger did not represent the true Christian faith as I always understood it even while not be a devout Christian.
